There is no tangible evidence of many things we take for granted. we can't prove love exists, for example- aside from experiential evidence, which atheists have no patience for. Also, many things existed prior to scientific evidence- earthquake lights, giant squid, the universe. Yet you doubt God.

I wouldn't waste God's time on either candidate.

No one is listening. Prayer or not, what will happen will happen.

Yeah screw evidence and proof! The bible tells us God is real and it's all factual because the Bible says so. God was also smart enough to tell us 2000 years in advanced those horrible, sweaty rayon/cotton blended pants are a sin (Leviticus 19.19). Should be a sin to sell them too.

If I supported baby killing I'd be ashamed to pray to God too.

Well I have been. I'm 100% confident his Noodliness will bless America tomorrow at 3:47pm PDT (he hates Standard Time) with the best pirate candidate for REAL November surprise.

Like god (even if it existed) would even care who the President was.

Some references to look up if you're really interested. Romans 1:19-20, Isaiah 6:9-10, John 4:48

Depends: you can't measure the effectiveness of praying. But yeah... Praying for a pony or a parking place or a person to be elected isn't really praying.... It's wishing

Wow. You only believe in something if you can see it? That's very sad.

Not for my candidate to win... God has no political preference

No but I should. I can't afford for Obama to be re-elected.

No... I'm not too worried about it. Since me voting would be against the law.

But if I were voting, then yes, I would.

I'm sure God has other things on his mind, like concealing all evidence for his existence, because I can't see any.

But if he's all powerful he can handle all of it right?... Damn, that's a mark against god isn't it? Concepts sure don't do well when put to the test of reality.

No.
I figured God has other things to worry about.
You know, like the entire world.

Also, religion has a way of fogging opinion based on faith alone. That can't sustain the diversity of problems we have now. Critical thinking and reason can.

Psychologically speaking it can be good for small things like parking spaces, but it also can be bad for big things. A person who is sick and being prayed for has the inescapable anxiety of the need to be prayed for. They then have lower rates of recovery. Prayer just plain doesn't work.

That would be like praying for your team to win. What a silly concept.

Prayer is also very good for your health, as is being religious/spiritual in general.

So PRAY ON! ????

I'm atheist. Even if I wasn't, statistics show that prayer is no more effective than crossing fingers. Get over it, god is only a concept and no more.
