Yes. That's why Paul says not to tell people "be warm and well-fed" and then not help them. Faith without works is dead. Mother Teresa understood this.

Honesty, the fact that 64% of ppl votes no, gives me hope for this app. If you pray for an election then you have low standards set for your God and his purpose in our lives.

Sometimes it does seem that way.

I love pointing that out to the religious right.

Just because you can't hear doesn't mean the rest of us are deaf.

Atheism requires as much faith as any other kind of religion. It's just a different set of religious beliefs.

Knowing God is like being in love. You meet, and you just...know. Sorry you've never known that peace beyond all understanding. But just because you can't see doesn't mean the rest of us should be blind.

First of all, this country was created to stop religious persecution. Second of all, if you believe the Big Bang is nothingness then you have some learning to do

....I'm guessing you're 26 years old based on your screen name, which would explain the immature and authoritative tone given to a point you can prove...but trust me, you're the ONLY person on here that thinks you're as smart as you do.

This country was created with "in God we trust." why has that been so forgotten? if anyone honestly believes that this incredible planet was just created out of nothingness, you have some major searching to do. God is our savior, don't be one of the many that begs at his feet when he returns.......

Oh, I'm an equal opportunity atheist. I think you're all equally loony. It's just that, in this country, Christians are the only religious group that wants laws made based on their beliefs... Kinda reminds me of another crazy religious group half a world away.

Just because you pray doesn't mean you don't think. Romney prays. You think he became so hugely successful because he lacks critical thinking skills? What's with the negativity?

No it's sad that we have such little regard for critical thinking that this is even a question that people would answer positively.

The one good thing about people not believing Mormons are Christians is that when you talk trash on Christians you aren't talking trash about us.

Yeah and the norway massacre shooter is a christian. Hitler was a christian. The taliban is religious. So what. There are shitty people of all sorts.

If as a country we spent less time praying and more time learning we would all make more educated decisions concerning politics as well as every in other part of our lives. Then we would have no more reason to pray for the outcome of an elections.

Whatever religion or lack of religion a person who does evil happens to hold is moot. Stalin didnt kill people in the name of atheism, he was bad. That being said, if you wanted to fall into this logical fallacy anyway I would venture to say more people have been killed in the name of god then not.

Bran, I never responded to your "rational discussion" directed towards me yesterday so I don't know what sarcasm and rhetoric you're talking about. I did just now respond to that comment though, so we can continue the discussion down there.

That's why it's always the Christians. Nobody else forces their beliefs on others as much as they do. If Jews or Muslims or Buddhists started taking over politics, people would be just as upset with them.

The whole point of this app is to debate opposing viewpoints. If you can't take that you obviously don't have as much faith as you think you do. Why should people be any more respectful of your religious beliefs then your political views?

They do use religion to push bills like the vaginal ultrasound probe bill. What oppression do you face from nonbelievers? You act like you're persecuted daily for being Christian. You're not.

Bran, you say men of the past used religion to push their agenda as if that doesn't happen in today's politics. Look at Santorum!! Look at al qaeda. I agree, the true religious people are no danger, it's just a shame that so few of American Christians are true Christians.

If that were true, religious folks would have the right to hate, disrespect, and shun atheists. Remember atheism was part of Stalin and Mao's platforms.
