Are you a nerd?
lol @ Republicans and older people.
I really don't know, maybe i'm somewhere in the middle. I get perfect grades and wear glasses but, I hat studying and stuff so in the middle maybe haha
My inner Grammar Nazi is screaming right about now.
...Also, what happened to the sub-requirements like, D&D junkie, fantasy/sci-fi reader, social outcast etc? (The answer is, that nerdiness has become a socially acceptable thing, and has been bastardized in order to conform to the whims of mainstream culture.)
I feel like a vast majority of America thinks that owning a PS3, XBOX, or an iPhone makes them a nerd. I think not. Technology proficiency in an increasingly technologically based society is not proof of nerdiness; one must be significantly more proficient in technology to make that claim...
You mean 1337 r0(k5s!
s0M3 P30pL3 Jus7 d0N'7 937 i7.
I will attempt to translate for those who do not speak l33t:
why yes. yes I am. thank you very much
Well... I know about a dozen computer languages, can design digital circuitry, and am currently studying quantum physics for my latest IC project. That probably makes me a nerd doesn't it?
Maybe I agrees ;)
Except that computer obsession isn't really non-social anymore thanks to MMORPGs
We no speak l33t here.
I prefer athletic nerd
I just had a text conversation with a friend about subject-verb agreement, and it was not for a homework assignment. What do you think?
To be a combination of Albert Einstein and Arnold Schwarzenegger is cool - unless you have Einstein's body and Schwarzenegger's brain ;)
This quip isn't mine but from a song of an Austrian rock band.
Fits here, though.
I was too social and athletic in school to be a nerd.
No, I'm probably too athletic to be a classic nerd, but I like lots of geeky stuff...and just love that great nerd show "The Big Bang Theory".
I am a grandma and a great grandma. When I was young A nerd was someone that was Square or not cool. I read. I do a lot of exercise but I rather read than exercise.
Computer nerd tha enjoys good scifi, horror, fantasy fiction (board games, videogams, books movies tv). Not really a science or math nerd but more of computers and history. Love that stuff. I just don't like faux nerds (those that get into pop scifi just because its cool)
Well, I play the piano, got a 33 on my ACT twice, and I memorized the periodic table and atomic numbers, so I guess so. By the way, my favorite elements are Holmium, Carbon, Arsenic, and Chlorine. :3
Everyone's definition of a nerd is different.
I was a Navy nuke. If you are familiar with them, then you know that's all that needs to be said.
I got a pokemon tattoo when I was 17. Pokemon fan for life!
Grandma and I'm a great grandma's I guess I'm a nerd I don't know. Even though I exerciser read there be reading.
There not more comfortable with who they are everyone calls them nerds
I'm the same :D
The secret to being a hipster is denying you're a hipster.
And proud of it!
why y35. y35 ! 4m. 7h4nk y0u v3ry mu(h.
Dude...that makes you "King of All nerds"!
Nerd. I generally prefer books to people. I pretty much always have.
No... I've always gotten good grades without really trying.
I'm a history nerd and I tell corny jokes :)
I don't think I'm a nerd, just smart. I have a social life, I do sports, I have a girlfriend, but I'm also a straight-A student in nothing but AP classes. I'm really not trying to hype myself up here, though. Anyway, I feel like a lot of people-not all-who responded "yes" are thinking of hipsters...
Yep...and my daughters will verify.
Not sure if that makes you a nerd. bit you are definitely the opposite of ADHD.
a nerd isn't a dork isn't a geek isn't a spaz isn't a goon and isn't a dweeb
Not exactly sure how to answer. I've been playing pokemon for 14 years and whenever someone gets a small fact wrong they get a 30 minute lecture. Tough call.
I agree there is def no way almost half the population is a nerd. I would like to know what other's definition of "nerd" are.
These results are inane. There's no way there is this many smart people. Most of you must be the foolish nerds with no social skills, instead of the highly intellectual nerds. Actually I guarantee the at least 2/3 of teens are not the smart nerds. Being a "nerd" is more of a fad for teenagers.
I wish! They seem to have the better paying jobs and are most comfortable with who they are!
A is nerd anyone who is Passionate about something so yes im a nerd comics and star trek rule
I watch the US House on CSPAN so yea
People have a convoluted definition of nerd, any many claim to be, but are not nerds. When did it become so popular to refer to oneself as a nerd?
"Bears, Beets, Battlestar Galactica."
