Well kinda IDV. But that's kinda the problem. What we did to in Iran between 53 and 79, in the 80's with flight 655, and proxy war BS is beyond bullying, and we have acted like they are crazy for standing up to us ever since only reinforcing the authority of the current regime. There are actually

American exceptionalism. For some reason Americans think they own the world and everybody should listen to them, but when the world tells us we're being stupid, we turn our backs. Stupid, stupid people.

I like the way you think masswhole, but I want to correct you, we should be able to destroy a country that poses a threat to us. that would be Russia, China, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and North Korea.

All being submissive does is gives the people that hate us more room to walk on us until their true agenda is realized then it is to late.
How would you treat somebody that is bullying you?

The US found mass graves from gassing, the people were asking for help and Sr didn't help and many civilians were put to death.

That terrorists don't give that we don't agree with the UN. You think they agree with the UN? No. 911 was happening buddy- teaming up with the hippies wasn't going to change that.

The other 3 would have to report it. If any of them didn't they would get hung with the person that said it. Family's can't even trust each other... All the news was state run. When the US was pushing Iraq back out if Kuwait the Iraqi people thought they were winning the war.

Yes, it's not a bad idea to work with the UN and as an international force instead of trying to do it alone. Oh...didn't we make that mistake with Iraq? Taking these actions on by ourselves can be very costly. Heed the lessons learned.

@ Dr.. The corrupt counties will never accept the US. They are dictators that control by fear, they use religion to suit their needs. What I don't understand why people against atrocities in some places and not others. In Iraq if a family of 4 was talking together, 1 said a bad thing about Sadam

We have a veto vote on the Security Council. No resolution will ever be passed that is against our interests. This is a nonissue.

1. The UN should be headquartered in a neutral country.
2. We're too independent to rely upon the views of the UN to make choices. The current POTUS being an exception

The UN sucks! They are hippy leaders that believe in world peace- get real. We are going to go to the measures possible to fulfill OUR best interests NOT the Un's.

It's nice to dream, isn't it doctor? That everything would have been so much better if we weren't so arrogant. Call names all you want, as that seems to be a typical response, but the reality is that while US foreign policy is far from perfect, we do more good than bad, despite what you might think.

So…what you guys are saying is that we have no right to criticize or punish North Korea and Iran for defying the UN? They are, as you say, a "sovereign, independent nation" that can "take the UN's advice" but "the buck stops at [1600 Ayatollah crazy pants Lane]."

In other situations where the US may have an interest, working with the UN could be a lot more useful than just having this F.U. attitude. The US can be the most influential country by far, influence it throws away with its open contempt of any other nation's opinion that dares to disagree.

Dr.reid
Do you honestly think thats the only thing that generates hatred?
Invasion?
No,no,no....there are many reason for many people to be hostile with one another all over the earth.
Take for example our difference in opinion...that has been enough to start wars between peoples alone.

Agreed, the UN doesn't always hold US interest at heart and fortunately I haven't been a blue hat. I have friends that have and worked foreign commanders. They said all the American soldiers were treated badly.. There are 192 countries that are members.

The only good we have done lately is patching up the damage we have done ourselves. If it was not for our arrogant foreign policy, Iran would have a secular government, the middle east would not hate us, 911 would not have happened. A lot less people would be dead.

I said no, though I think it depends on the situation. If something is a direct threat to US security then of course the US should take immediate action. The UN council might be a nice place to stand up say Hi, we're bombing you right about now, to the aggressor.
