Have you ever intentionally run a red light?
Once, when I was taking my son to catch the bus for field trip to DC. It was 3am and mine was the only car on the road. If a tree falls in the forest does it make a sound? If no one else is around, does it really matter?
It's legal anywhere as long as you don't get caught. But I have only done it in an emergency.
Have run a few on accident but did run one when I was rushing my dying dog to the animal ER.
Passion, anger, love, etc.
It's legal in VA if you're on a motorcycle.
Once we were stopped at a light and a cop pulled up next to us. It was after midnight; no one else was around. The light wouldn't change and the cop waved us on so we went. Other than that I'm a stickler for road rules - I'm not getting my kids in an accident if I can help it.
Red light camera got me...50$ ticket in the mail. Learned my lesson.
One by accident. It was the first time my soon-to-be Mother-in-law was in the car with me. Not a good impression to make.
White guy green light!
I am running on right n^*%¥#+!.......
Whats red mean again?
I have late at night when the light would not change and no one was around.
I was giving birth
Yeah because it wouldn't change after like ten damned minutes, and nothing was wrong with any of the other lights.
Never have and never will
Never in my life. I was surprised with the outcome.
Running a light implies forward or left turn.
Screw you guys for making fun of MJ. Traffic lights are a very common pace to get shot in areas of gang turbulence. That's why so many who live in those areas turn UPS and only go right at stop lights.
Next. Next green light
Last night 3 am Sitting waiting for the turn light, straight light changed 4 times never got a turn light so the night green straight light I turned.
I lied. I have in really rural areas late at night when the light obviously hates me and I've been sitting for more than 5mins.
135 isnt really that fast. Maybe to most. And i woulda died not went to the hospital. IMO risks were low enough for my own health. Others dont rly care.
I can't drive yet...but I probably wouldn't intentionally.
when I was driving I did...I would look around for cops, and just go..just if it was one of those lights that took forever & it was nighttime...otherwise, I waited...
Your just lucky all those single parent kids didn't run out with their cheap handguns n shoot you
I had to change my answer to yes for the same reason. Sorry but after 3 minutes of waiting with not a soul in site, ya just gotta go.
Doors do not have crumple zones. A sudden spin often breaks your neck.
This is one of the more dangerous and stupid things to do. It just takes a small tap to send a high speed vehicle flying.
I have as a cyclist, not a driver. There was one particular pedestrian crossing in the UK (not a junction) i would run as it's on a steep incline followed shortly by a roundabout on a road too narrow for cars to pass. Stopping then moving off uphill is a little unnerving with bus at your back wheel.
No but I do speed up for yellow lights.
On an emergency run to the ER. I didn't just blow through it though. I slowed down enough to be sure that no one was coming from the cross street.
If the light won't change at night and you can't wait all night it's understandable.
Nah I've had the same thing happen. Traffic was backed up quite a bit... So I ran it while the cross street light was red also
You're right godcyanide at night when the light will not change and no one is around. I have done that.
Yes. No one around. I wanted to break a rule. My friend, a youth pastors wife actually did the same thing. About the same time.
You gotta get your front wheels on the pad to change the light.
Yes, light appeared to stuck. Wasn't going to wait all day.
After sitting at the same red light for a full minute at 11 at night I just said fuck it
Probably two or three times I did 'accidentally' run at the red light many years ago. The police never give me the ticket. Whew!
Yeah I know everyone did do it. No one is prefect.
I think everyone has at least once.
I run red lights intentionally - but only when it's late at night, the roads are empty, and I'm looking for parking near home. We don't have the luxury of flashing yellows here, and you could be waiting minutes for a light change if you're on the wrong side of the intersection.
So the point is I doubt they deny to running a red light at all for the ones who have.
The question asks "have you ran a red light intentionally?" the answer for me is of course not intentionally.
Shit your from Utah. I shouldn't have even responded to your comment. Fml
Thank you. I was wondering what intentionally meant when I read the question...
Lmurder the key word is intentionally. I have accidentally ran a red light back when I was new to driving but not intentionally, so I said no.
We have some liars! Especially in AZ. Phoenix is the capital of running red lights with deadly consequences.
It's just a poll people. No news to lie. We won't find you and prosecute you for admitting it.
It's just "the Man" keeping you down. How are we going to save America if we are just standing around?
