Have you ever intentionally run a red light?
No = liars
Haha Bible Belt= yes
I raced my daughter to the hospital once while my son was helping me watch for traffic. I ran every single light.
When I turn right yes...
There's a 3 second gap... You always make it
I do it once a day during rush hour. It's wild, a lil' crazy, fun, and I never feel more alive. YOLO!!!
Laws vary from state to state. Virginia DOES allow motorcycles to pass through red lights under certain conditions.
I'm embarrassed to say when I've been impatient
I STOP at red lights. Go on green lights. And GO like HELL on Yellow...
Who spellcheck messed that one up!!
Meant to say they became more friendlier! Lol
When it's safe to do so. Helps that I can name drop either my brother ( an officer) or my sister (a Sargent ) in the local police! But I've only done it 3 times. They didn't seem to mind. & the officer's pulling me over became my h more friendlier.
If there's absolutely no cars, I don't see the problem. It's not like I'm running a red in broad daylight where I'm endangering other people's lives.
Seems as I'd a high percentage of drivers don't even understand what a red octagon with white letters spelling stop means. Why should a pretty amber light influence us?
That's pretty talented, giving birth and driving at the same time! Did you steer with your knees while cutting the umbilical cord?
Middle of the night, no car's in sight. Sometimes I get nervous just sitting at a light in darkness.
I ride a motorcycle and sometimes the light won't change.
Middle of the night, small town, quiet streets, stupid light wouldn't change to let me go. So I finally gave up and went anyway.
I'm kinda shocked that 50% have intentionally ran a red light.
to tell about it. And if someone else breaks them and you're in their way, you'd better hope you get out of their way fast or you'll probably be dead.
Nope. But then again, I don't even have a drivers license yet. The only times I've gone riding through an intersection with lights, I was obeying the rules of the road to ensure that I didn't get myself squashed onto a car. When you're on a bicycle, you'd better obey the rules or you might not live…
Only when the light's obviously not working correctly, and I can do it safely.
Emergency room visiting...well, getting someone to it
What red light or posting?
Whoa, I didn't think so many would intentionally run reds. I've taken yellow lights but never tried to rush a red. The risks aren't worth it.
Rednecks admit they blow (red lights)!
I never once ran a red light, a yellow light maybe but not a red one
If you look both ways and there's not a soul for miles, what's the risk?
Middle of the night, that light at the off ramp. Dumb lights at the corporate headquarters when there is no traffic. Run 'em all the time.
I do remember when I first got my license I was stuck at a red light for something like 10 mins. and no one on the road. I was so scared a cop would show just as I ran it, I made a right, made a (legal) u-turn, then right again to get through the intersection.
I voted "no", but only that I can remember. I may have at some point and forgot.
All the time! That's what lights and sirens are for!
I wasn't making fun ,was just being a smart ass
Middle of the night going back home, only car for miles and sitting there waiting for the light to turn green of course after minutes I ran the red light. Also I go through yellow lights when I know it'll turn red before I'm through the intersection.
Yes, and the world is better for it
yes sir I have
When you work second shift, you encounter many traffic lights that don't work well with little to no traffic
No, it's still illegal, you just don't suffer any consequences if you don't get caught.
I only ran it late at night after waiting for over 15 min for it to change. Not one car went by the whole time. I felt pretty comfortable going.
Why would anyone be in such a hurry to put others at risj
Utah would say yes. Nobody knows how to drive here.
I do it all the time at lights I don't agree should be in their location.
Not aside from missing the yellow.
Fair has nothing to do with me using my overhead lights respond to a motor vehicle accident, or a domestic assault, or a robbery in progress, etc. Would you rather I waited for all the lights?
If I hadn't, I'd still be sitting there. The quality of the engineers and installers of traffic sensors is at the low end of the low quality we've come to expect from American workers. 90% of them don't detect even big motorcycles. Two light cycles, still red, and a gap, I'm going.
But you waited ten minutes and looked all directions. That is not running a light. I did this once in a blizzard when I was the only vehicle on the road and the vision activated loop was covered in snow. Also waited 10 minutes or so
It's illegal no matter what kind of car your in
