Both. We live in the RV. The boat "rides" on side of RV when not in use.

Does a canoe and mountain bike count...?

That's ironic. On the map ND is the only one that's blue.... But the others are red [one of them is purple.]. Wait.... Not to offend ND, but, does it even have lakes? Rivers? Any water source? :| Hmmm...

Lol you say that like being wealthy is a bad thing.

We are far from wealthy! Retired cop and teacher! But we saved, started small, and traded up about every 5 years. By the time we paid off our mortgage we had enough to trade in our old trailer on a newer 5th wheel trailer. Took 20 yrs but we did it

Fun, congrats on your work ethic and accomplishments. Don't mean to minimize those who do what you did. Just commented on those who have privilege to be able to buy yachts then minimize others to keep their privilege

Yeah. We're so "wealthy" we live full-time in our self-remodeled 1989 $1500-paid-in-full RV & our boat folds flat and "rides" on the side of said RV. Practical survival decision that we now wish we'd done earlier, not "luxury" choice.

I have 2 kayaks. Both are set up for fishing. I have a Hobie pro angler and an Ocean Kayak big game. There's nothing better then being 6 inches off the water with the salt spraying in your face.the Hobie is like riding a bike.

We're working on getting an RV. What's better a motor home or the "pulley" trailer thingies... Lol Idk what they are called.

funlover heart of it all
06/07/14 4:23 pm

We Chose a trailer because we didn't want to be without a vehicle when we camped. We have a 5th wheel now, lots more trailer for the money, pulls good, hitches and unhitches easier than bumper hitch. Motor home $$$$$ and total gas guzzler.

elianastar Gab.ai FreeSpeech

We're living on our Class A RV. We chose that over trailer/5th wheel as fulltimers because better insulated (after remodeled) & we could tow economical vehicle more easily. For occasional summer camping, we'd have towed a trailer.

My dad always had a boat. I have many fond memories of picnics and water skiing. However my husband gets really, really seasick so there's no point to having one with him.

14ft Cataraft with a 15hp motor and a Alpacka Llama...someday I'll be pulling my Cat behind an RV. Until then, I have a Honda Element that I pull it with. In the back I sleep on a queen size air mattress and look at the stars through the moonroof. :)

What would you rather have, a sailboat or a motor boat?

georgiastarlite
06/07/14 7:14 pm

Well I've never been sailing, but even if I had I'd probably choose a motor boat, big enough to fish off of(in the ocean) and hopefully safe enough to tube behind!

Nizabelle Cambridge, MA
06/07/14 7:17 pm

Sailing is INCEEDIBLE and so relaxing and fun BUT it takes forever to get anywhere. If you're getting about to fish the a motor boat is the way to go but if you're looking to cruise around then a sailboat is perfect because there's no headache from

Nizabelle Cambridge, MA
06/07/14 7:18 pm

The loud motor and there's way more cabin too because of the smaller engine room.

georgiastarlite
06/07/14 7:58 pm

If I'm ever so fortunate as to be able to afford even one boat, maybe I'll save up for two and try them both!

We gave the RV to my nephew for his family to use . Just an old 18 footer. My parents had boats in Michigan . My dad sold the larger one when he got too old to maintain it and we gave the aluminum boat to the nephew.

Both, a 25 ft class C motorhome, and a 12 ft boat with a 6 hp motor. You don't exactly go for any sea cruises on a 12 ft boat. We also have a canoe. That's no luxury yacht either.

We do, a couple of weeks a year most years, plus a half dozen or so weekend trips. We also have a pickup camper, and in the last two years we've started using that more than the motorhome because we can go so many more places with it.

Nizabelle Cambridge, MA
06/06/14 10:43 pm

Oooh that actually sounds like a fun weekend situation! I uses to want to get a decked out huge RV and drive across the country and go to Napa Valley, maybe I'll even do it someday! I'll let you know how it works out if it ever happens

Uh my household? No, not my thing and my mom's not THAT into the outdoors. Several relatives have boats though. My grandfather (who I used to live with) and father are very into boats. My father does a lot of yachting. But I don't speak to either.
