Yes yes yes!! I would gladly donate eggs to stem cell research for MS. I have it and if I could help scientists find a cure, I will do all I can!

He'll no. Y'all Yankee liberals need to get out of here with your damn "science". The real term is witchcraft, and you'll get lynched down here in bama for that shit.

I'm so confused why federal funding is such a bad thing. I work for a National Laboratory, our work is funded by the federal government. There are no private Particle Accelerators out there that even compete with my current lab. With over 2000

The federal govt's job is stated in the constitution... I'm pretty sure commercial research isn't listed.

These cells can save lives. I don't know why people are so against it. Of course I support it and they should definitely move forward in the research of it.

The federal government has no business funding this or any program like it. If private industry wants to that is fine but not a government roll!

Based on pole results Republicans appear not to be very progressive.
It accounts for their failures to enroll young people in their party.

When "stem cell research" was "ended" by the government, everyone began politician a non-issue. What wasn't reported is that the embryonic stem cells which were already harvested could be cultivated practically to infinity. There was no shortage..

Are people really so ignorant they think the only way to harvest these stem cells are from a fetus? It's called an umbilical cord people and guess what it contains....stem cells. You can donate them to science rather than letting it become medical waste.

Privatize it! Why is it the government's job to fund it? I'm all for science, but I don't think funding extra things will solve our budget deficit, or did everyone forget about that once elections were over and the media didn't have political interests behind their headlines?

I don't understand why so many self-identified Libertarians support Federal funding for this. I thought Libertarians would be against Federal funding of anything. Let private companies fund the research.

I'm for all sources of stem cells for research, personally I'll use the ones in my bone marrow to repair my knees

stem cells can help cure Parkinson's or something like that. of course. what would you republicans do if your parents had it, and stem cell was an option for a cure? say no?

Absolutely. We're talking about research that could potentially save thousands of lives and cure many diseases. Why should an embryo that isn't even a human yet be put above the lives of those who already exist?

I don't support this because scientists can already remove stem cells from adult bone marrow and umbilical cords. Some scientists have even transformed human skin cells so that they act like stem cells. I believe that if we put more emphasis on...

I always used to be, but now science has evolved beyond the need for human embryos to obtain human stem cells.

Embryonic stem cells are unstable. They have never been successfully used in research. Our money and time should be used towards adult and placenta stem cells. That is where the success and breakthroughs are coming from.

Keyword being embryonic. Stem cell research? Absolutely in favor for. Embryonic? No, I'm not down with that.

Why do people think the government has to fund EVERYTHING. If there is promise in a technology, private companies will (and already do) dump billions into research. Let taxpayer dollars be spent on what it should be spent on: infrastructure.

Of course. There are so many diseases and ailments that could potentially be cured - stem cell treatments are one of the most amazing medical breakthroughs of out time.
