I'm so confused why federal funding is such a bad thing. I work for a National Laboratory, our work is funded by the federal government. There are no private Particle Accelerators out there that even compete with my current lab. With over 2000

Employees and (about) 10000 users that use the lab every year, public funding keeps the transparency and the public access open. Without federal funding, the top quark would not have been discovered in the US when it had been. Keep finding science!!!

No. The government should not be investing money in any endeavors. Lower taxes and incentivize private industry. Private industry will always "always" be more efficient, and be more successful with their results.

When "stem cell research" was "ended" by the government, everyone began politician a non-issue. What wasn't reported is that the embryonic stem cells which were already harvested could be cultivated practically to infinity. There was no shortage..

What people fail to also get from the news is that advances using adult stem cells far outweigh those of embryonic stem cells.

Adult stem cells have seen tremendous practical value and embryonic have not. This is just another progressive attack.

There's stem cells in the umbilical, not just a young embryo. In either case, it's one of our only routes to repairing spinal cord and nerve injury.

Actually, what many don't understand, is that "embryonic" cells are not all embryos. We have stem cells in our bone marrow that can be used and harms no one. The mere term freaks people out. I do medical research and this can save lives, many at that. And I am a die hard republican.

Embryonic stem cells are unstable. They have never been successfully used in research. Our money and time should be used towards adult and placenta stem cells. That is where the success and breakthroughs are coming from.
