One of the Fox News debate hosts just asked if they would put mosques under surveillance, as well as just said conservatives are in defense of religious liberty in the same sentence. Would you be in support of putting mosques under surveillance?

If there was a person of interest that frequented the mosque, then yes. Just like if there was a restaurant that a person of interest frequented.

They did the typical thing dems and reps do, which is "thanks for the question, but now I'm going to talk about liberty" and then boast about only the good statistics under their leadership.

Only Lindsey specifically said he would "if he had to".

I don't know any Christian that believes that.

No; unless there is a verifiable, legitimate reason for the surveilance. And only with a warrent.

I should also note that I see absolutely no reason other than Islamophobia to do so.

And should we do this to any religious institution?

We were both talking about Christians, not Republicans. I wish people would recognize that those terms are non synonymous. Common, but not synonymous. The stereotype makes me angry.

I can think of several reasons why Islamophobia is disgustingly ignorant though.

Strong Christian Republican here. Absolutely not unless that mosque poses a credible threat to our national security. That goes for any place.

Of course not. I'm not for putting surveillance in any place of worship. It'd disrupt the sanctity.

Ronder and Alynn: the average person, Christian or not, in the U.S.? No, they don't. Far right radicals that seem to be gaining more and more control of the Republican Party? Yes, they very much seem to believe that

of course. Louis Farrakahn, who just called for a 10000 man army willing to die committing violence against their "white oppressors" would be another example. Westboro Baptist perhaps.

I know of no reason to necessarily, but it isn't ironic. Louis Farrakahn just asked for 10k "warriors" who'd be willing to die fighting their white oppressors. You bet your bottom dollar someone should keep an eye on that guy. There is justification

The two definitely aren't synonymous. Unfortunately, some far right Christians give the rest a bad name. Personally, I try to avoid conflating the two. I'm not saying I'm perfect, just that there Is a difference

If you really want to piss some people off, make a statement that Christians can't be democrats. You will see democrat Christians come out of the woodwork. 😂

Almost ALL the rape that occurs in this country is carried out by males. You're a male. Therefore, you should be heavily monitored to make sure you don't rape people.

Would you be okay with that?

Are you afraid of Islam? You're misusing the phrase. I've heard comments that are hateful for sure against Islam but that isn't the topic, and while certainly ignorant that hate isn't as common as you think I suspect.
