Well seeing these results kinda makes me think that I must be just as creative as everybody else then.

i make duck tape crafts and on my instagram account we just hit 1000 followers!

Lol. I'm sure you've got some talents up your sleeve.

That tells you that you're not creative enough to figure it out. So...probably not.

Everyone is more creative than 9j1978

I have to wonder how many of the people who are more creative than average are actually just narcissistic.

YES! Right now the color of the state of Kansas (red or blue) depends on MY vote! Muahahahaha!

12/24/12 1:37 pm

How am I supposed to know how creative the average person is?

I am creative in the kitchen, love cooking! Otherwise, I'm only creative when it's necessary. I'm not among those oozing with creativity, in search of an outlet to express it.

I am in certain areas like application of mathematical theories. I am not artistic at all though.

Not at all! Of course I also answered no to being smarter, better looking and funnier. I will, however, answer yes to "lower self-esteem" than the average! :)

12/24/12 5:45 am

This is a tough one. I try to be creative but other people always seem to come up with cooler ideas then I do. Lol. I guess it depends on where average lies. I'd say slightly more then average I guess. I try at least...

12/23/12 10:29 pm

So do I but what happens onboard stays onboard - in real life I act pretty normal though I find this world weird ;)

One of my teachers wrote of me that he lives in a world of his own creation. I still live there even at 60 years of age and it's wonderful. ????

12/23/12 10:21 pm

Everyone is creative - it's a matter of degree. Total uniqueness however is extremely hard.

12/23/12 10:20 pm

I see at least two types of creativity : problem solving and creating abstract or concrete things of originality.

I think some people have very different definitions of what it means to be creative. It is curious though that some people's definition of creativity pretty much applies to everyone, therefore not really making them more creative than average. Some of these comments made me laugh :-)

12/23/12 9:55 pm

Yeah I just made that up, but 5,000 words, that is impressive keep it up.

I answered yes, simply because my mind sometimes wanders along very strange and creative paths, which I'm pretty sure most other people's minds haven't traveled. One time in my teens I started thinking along the lines or Rene Descartes, before I even knew about him . . .

I'm creative, in a way. If you give me any problem, I can usually come up with a very creative and unique solution.
However, when it comes to artsy creativity, I'm about as creative as an elephant.

When you consider that (1) who knows how creative the "average" person is anyway, and (2) it's almost certain that the SoH population is not a cross-section of the population, I'm surprised it's anywhere near as close as 52%.

12/23/12 9:31 pm

A page or so excerpt would probably tell me if it's real or gibberish - it's not easy to make a language up that doesn't look too repetitive.
Repetition and "famalamadama" type words usually show it's not real.

12/23/12 9:29 pm

Huh? I'm looking at 52% right now. Can't believe it was that different 2 hours ago.

If you are serious you have to beat a 150 page grammar and 5,000 words of mine. We are not alone, I've read an estimate of 20,000 experimental languages. Klingon is well known for instance.

Why do you say that, and how do you know? What percent of people would you EXPECT to say they think they're more creative than average? What percent of people actually ARE more creative than average? Isn't that last figure 50%? Take a look at the numbers again.

12/23/12 8:41 pm

These numbers are soooooo false.

12/23/12 8:23 pm

No, that's just gullibility - others made the sht up some people believe.

Not really, pretty average I guess. I will say I get really creative when it comes to cooking. I've become pretty good at it I'm told.

I finally got to say "yes" to one of these, too! I write, sew, knit, crochet, spin my own yarn (I have a spinning wheel and a drop spindle), make fancy schmancy birthday cakes, sketch...I don't feel right unless I'm creating something.

12/23/12 7:42 pm

This is the first time I could say yes! I don't think I'm better-looking, smarter, etc than the average person, but I think I'm pretty creative.

12/23/12 7:16 pm

Im wayyyyy more creative than average.... All you have to do is look at my wardrobe.

A good strategy demands creativity to imagine all probable outcomes and contingency plans for each.

12/23/12 5:44 pm

Yes, I paint a lot, and I have a wild imagination :)

12/23/12 5:23 pm

I'm not really creative but I'm definitely strategic.

I'd actually love to live in one of the historical re-enactment villages. I have the right skills. I just need the right clothes and no one would even know I wasn't from the 20th century!!!

Reason for not publishing : most are very private and some would violate copyright by expanding existing worlds.

12/23/12 4:55 pm

I have an extremely vivid imagination, been writing hundreds of short stories (but only a few published in obscure ebook anthologies), invented a Tolkinesque culture with fully functional language, invented encoding ciphers, a boardgame etc, so yes, but all brainwork, nothing manual.

Same with my husband he can do all sorts stuff, but he needs me to do the creative part when we make thanks. I design it he puts it together. He is a metal shop teacher and does a very awesome job with that.

Create my own embroidery designs for my machine I create my own knitting designs and crochet designs and I have created many recipes so I would say yes. Also haves tendency for depression. Tends to go with being creative.
