In my 70's, playing on my iPad Air, sitting beside my nvidia card loaded Dell xps for my gaming ...what's that about not judging the worn book by its cover?

Right on Spirit. You are using your experience and energy wisely.

That's all good, but is the clock on your VCR blinking?

Some of us old fogies have spent quite a lot of time with computers & other new-fangled things. (I do confess that I had to ask my daughter a wifi-related question recently, though. Something I hadn't encountered before.)

The older my kids get the wiser I seem to them.

I'm old.
My wisdom says I'd rather be young.

More time = more screw ups = more wisdom. No magic.

I'm with the overwhelming majority of the SoH Nation on this one.

At one time possibly but now, maybe not.

Every time I grow I look at how I was in the past and I realize that I was stupid and inexperienced. I got to a point in my life where I know that in the future I will think the same about how I am right now.

Yes. Wisdom comes with experience. We might have new toys and methods of communication, but the human mind remains the same.

Wisdom, youth and wealth. It's possible to have two at once... But never all three.

I would use the terms experienced and inexperienced instead of old and young. Some people with many years still do not have wisdom, although many do. And there are "young" who occasionially have more wisdom than some "old."

If old people are so smart why do they choose to keep getting older? Checkmate.

There's a difference between wisdom and intelligence.

You betcha, sonny! We old folks have already made and recovered from all the mistakes you young'uns encounter in your daily lives. It wouldn't hurt you kids to seek out our wisdom so you don't hafta earn yours th' hard way! ;-)

Only more experience. Wisdom also requires good judgment, and many people never acquire that.

Generally, I said yes. Experience helps in attaining wisdom, so generally yes. But at an individual level there is no guarantee.
