Do you think the conflict between Israelis and Palestinians in Gaza will escalate into a war involving other nations in the Middle East?

Yes the Arabs did seek independence and their own state after WW1 that is what the Arab revolt against the Ottoman Turks was for, independence not to be colonized by the British. They are an admixture as you point out and Jews lived in peace until the zionists came who are Khazars, not real Semites.

And the UN passed the mandate because Jewish militias were fighting with Britain and driving Palestinian out of the majority Jewish areas, they actually declared the state of Israel before the UN passed that mandate, it was the UN's attempt to calm the situation.

You do realize the war in 67 was because Israel was seizing land illegally from the Palestinian territory's and neighbors. It wasn't like Israel was out picking flowers and mean old mister Arab came knocking at the door.

Those are not facts, the only fact you states is the area was controlled by Britain before 1947, the rest is a complete misrepresentation of the history. To act like the Jewish militias and Israel have always been nice and Muslims always savages is akin to burying your head in the sand

Actually after WWII those displaced by the holocaust began building settlements in Palastine. These grew to large and the UN intervened stealing land from the residents and claiming that they should be living there without having any legal rights there

Whoami, isn't it sad how half brothers fight so? I think Abraham is saddened by how his children fight so.

It was a fight of many Arab countries against one tiny, new country, with very few resources. To the world's surprise, Israel won. "And the rest is history," we could say.

Israel would still like to just live in peace. Israeli Arabs still have full citizenship rights and benefits.

Whoami. Nice pointing out that they didn't have a problem being under British rule. They don't want land or peace, only the annihilation of all Jews.

The Jews in their allotted country declared the new State of Israel. They made all Arabs living in the country full Israeli citizens, with all rights (which is still true).

At the same time, the Arabs encouraged their people to leave Israel.
They said that they would destroy the

They gave away land for a false promise of peace. They should just take it back and crush the opposition, as the contract is null and void. I am not of Israeli origin. However, I have worked with them enough to know that they are genuine. I am sure their neighbors don't share my respect.

... were satisfied to live under British rule.

In 1948, the United Nations voted for a Partition Plan. Half of the former British Mandate (as it was called) would be an independent state of Palestine. The other half would be a Jewish state.

The Jews accepted. The Arabs did not.

I've been reading these comments and those on the other Middle East thread. I have to jump in, with some facts.

Before 1948, Palestine was ruled by the British. The people who called themselves Palestinians were a mix of Arabs and Jews. The Arabs had never asked for an independent state. They

Israel is a disciplined country. They are organized, have good intelligence and know exactly what they want. They do not want to rule the world. They just want peace in the land promised to them. They will not exceed their mandate. Not sure about the other guys.

mda2894 blind support is not a reason, never mind a rational one. It won't surprise me if we get involved, but it will surprise me if the contrived justification seems plausible or reasonable.

Idk think there'll ever be peace in the Middle East or the world. As long as there are two factions they'll keep on fighting on one side for independence from the west and the other for the use of resources

Who is willing to defend Palestine??? Seriously? They don't have anything of interest. No one cares about a small government unless it has something useful. If Palestine accepted the US and praised them, then Palestine would of been a nation a long time ago.

Israel's Bibi has already made it clear he wants war with Palestine. He has admitted he can accomplish this because he rest of the world will blindly support Israel. "They will say we we're defending…80% of America supports us. It's absurd."
