The govt shutdown cost $11 billion with $3 billion lost forever while 800,000 went without a paycheck for some time. Trump only wanted $5.7 billion for the wall. Which is worse?
Another Leftist p i s s i n g contest while spending more than a less costly WALL🤬‼️
How did it cost money. Shouldn't it have saved money?
That was Schumer that said those numbers. Do you think he realized the irony?
Well Trump shouldn’t have tried to blackmail the American people.
He didn't. He tried to get Nancy and Chuck to show up for work.
Oh please, you all had a full two years to get the wall up, and you could have through reconciliation, it is completely Trump’s fault for the entire thing, and the American people know it!
You tell ‘em Zimny!
Reconciliation? Like Trump giving them twice the number of DACA recipients that they asked for? Lol, Dems look horrible to the American people right now, including the moderate Dems and Independents. Only the far leftists are still supporting Chuckles and Fancy Nancy.
Dems look so horrible we were able to take the House back, and Trump is at his lowest popularity in his already failed Presidency! But let’s shut the government down again, because it worked so well the last time! 😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪
That was before the shutdown and when there was rampant voter fraud. Voter ID will stop that from happening in 2020.
You’re in for a LOT of surprises!
Kscott- what are you going to do when all your predictions don’t happen?
I may get the timing wrong but the predictions are correct.
No you predicted a house keep for the GOP.
Like a broken record, aren’t you? Yes, I admitted I got the timing wrong. It will be in 2020. We went through this already.
2006 The Secure Fence Act was passed . It became law. Billions was set aside for security, Janet Napolitano for some reason decided against securing the border. That LAW is still in place. The money is still available.
News flash... in any shutdown, the party that is demanding something is always at fault.
Democrats kept voting for measure in which they give in to Republican demands. Trump waited two years until he lost control of Congress. If he really cared and wasn’t trying to appease Limbaugh and Coulter, he would have this when he had the chance.
He didn’t have the Senate votes those 2 years. And yes, he shut it down but they kept it shutdown and refused to negotiate or pay the fed workers. They own it now. And now they’ve lost more than what it would’ve cost to just give him. So they gained nothing and lost everything.
But you did have the votes, reconciliation! You guys were just too incompetent
And he doesn’t have the senate votes now. The only difference is that he waited until he lost the house too. 🤔
No, zimmy, it takes 60 Senate votes. There weren’t even 60 Senate Reps and still isn’t. But the wall funding did pass the House.
Don’t fret. He’s building the wall already and exposing the Dems as not caring about Americans. Win-Win.
Wrong again Kscott, with reconciliation you don’t need 50 votes, it’s not our problem if you couldn’t get enough Republicans on board.
Please provide actual evidence - not Trumpspeak - of where this magic wall is being built.
There is no point in arguing with Kscott. Twice today a law has been provided for him, and twice he has said the law isn’t mean what the words state.
It’s 60 votes, zimmy, not 50. Clearly the Dems are just obstructing anything Trump wants no matter if it’s what’s best for the country.
Here’s proof the wall is already being built:
I don’t expect any of you to have the integrity to admit I was right. My expectations are always low.
It’s not 60 votes for reconciliation, otherwise the tax cuts wouldn’t get through
And if the wall is already being built, there was absolutely no reason for a shutdown in the first place, and that makes Trump look like even more of an ass!
LOL, TJ. The law doesn’t say what you want it to say.
“The Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) generally prohibits foreign nationals from directly or indirectly donating or spending money in connection with any U.S. election. ... In addition, FECA prohibits the knowing solicitation, acceptance, or receipt of contributions from foreign nationals.”
Emails showing illegal activities are not contributions. Even if the legal system deemed them to to be, it is a civil penalty, a fine.
“And if the wall is already being built, there was absolutely no reason for a shutdown in the first place, and that makes Trump look like even more of an ass!”
He’s using the military to build it but it should’ve had its own funding. Politics is always about optics. He exposed them as anti-American while still doing his job to protect the people with the wall.
As the debt rises up up and up! And soon the economy will come crashing down!

Maybe Pelosi and Schumer should not have
They didn’t. They both supported the compromise bill that passed in the senate with unanimous support from each party.
I do not think it was unanimous support but it never passed the house.
The house approved a bill that included wall funding but Democrats would not support it in the senate
How exactly is it the minority party's fault that the government shut down?
Yes, it passed unanimously on December 19th. It was excepted easily pass the House and be signed into law by Trump. Then, Ruth Limbaugh and Ann Coulter gave a Trump shit and he changed his mind. Since this totally screwed over McConnell, he said that he would not put another bill forward unless said he absolutely 100% would sign it.
“How exactly is it the minority party's fault that the government shut down?”
Because the senate vote is not by majority.
It requires 60 votes
Whatever the reason Twin, congress failed to deliver a bill to the president to sign and therefore, they own the shutdown
No, that’s not how it works. Congress was totally in agreement, both the Senate and the House of Representatives, then Trump changed his mind and said he wouldn’t sign any bill they sent to him without wall funding. So the House didn’t vote on it.
In any shut down, the party demanding something owns the shutdown.
“I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck. … I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I’m not going to blame you for it.” ~ President Donald J Trump on national
television (December 11, 2018)
And he got NOTHING for it. Nothing! I thought this was Mr. Art Of The Deal?
“Congress was totally in agreement”
Please tell me the date that Trump vetoed the bill?
“I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck. … I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I’m not going to blame you for it.”
You believed that. Have you not heard that Trump lies?
Paul Ryan, a Republican, did not pull the the unanimous passed in the senate up for a vote because Trump said he wouldn’t sign it. Wow, you’re slow.
You are the one having trouble comprehending. The house passed a bill which was never brought to the senate because Democrats said they would not vote for it if it included wall funding (even though they supported that previously).
So neither bill was ever passed and nothing was submitted to the president.
Therefore, Congress owns the shutdown.
Again you’re wrong. The Senate unanimously passed a bill on December 19th, which Paul Ryan said would be voted on by the House of Representatives since Trump stated that he intended to sign the bill. Then, Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh scared Trump and he changed his mind right before the House was scheduled to vote, so Paul Ryan cancelled vote. It’s incredible how you try to change the facts to fit your narrative. You literally changed what chamber of congress voted on the bill.
Since the “wall” is solely a Department of Homeland Security issue, during the shutdown Democrats in the HoR passed several stop gap bills funding all the other Departments which included the previous demands by Republicans that the Democrats caved to. Republicans then wouldn’t even take the bill that included THEIR demands. Why wouldn’t Trump and Republicans agree to fund the unrelated Departments???
And now even Trump is blaming Ryan... thehill.com/hilltv/rising/427818-president-trump-blames-paul-ryan-for-gop-failure-to-deliver-border-wall
If this were a true national emergency, why didn’t Trump build the wall during the two years he had unified government? The reason... house and senate Republicans kept pushing him off. The reason... many, many Republicans don’t support the wall. The chamber of commerce types love cheap labor.
The fact is, when they had power the Republicans couldn’t agree on (almost) anything. They couldn’t even repeal Obamacare, as promised for 7 years. At the end of the day the only thing they could all agree on was driving up the national debt in the name of class warfare… namely, borrowing $2 trillion from our nation’s future to transfer wealth from the lower and middle classes to the upper class. Sad!
When did Trump veto a bill to temporarily fund the government?
When he changes his position and say he won’t sign, it stops the whole process and is the exact same thing as a pocket veto. But since you are hell bent on trying to let Trump off the hook, Paul Ryan was Speaker of the House and Mitch McConnell was Senate majority leader when this took place. Feel free to blame them too.
They should pass the bill if there is such great agreement and force to sign or veto it. Until then, they have failed to do their job
So you are blaming McConnell and Paul Ryan for not sending a bill to Trump after Trump said he’d sign it then pulled out at the last minute, prompting Speaker Ryan to cancel the vote???
Like they should have wasted their time and voted as a formality so Trump would be forced to veto the bill???
They should have voted for it to find out what was in it
Not concerned about what you find dumb or funny
It’s amazing how Leftist have hijacked & jammed up the system, while trying to blame Trump for all❗️HyperHypocracy at its worst‼️
