“I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck. … I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I’m not going to blame you for it.”
You believed that. Have you not heard that Trump lies?

Yes, it passed unanimously on December 19th. It was excepted easily pass the House and be signed into law by Trump. Then, Ruth Limbaugh and Ann Coulter gave a Trump shit and he changed his mind. Since this totally screwed over McConnell, he said that he would not put another bill forward unless said he absolutely 100% would sign it.

Oh please, you all had a full two years to get the wall up, and you could have through reconciliation, it is completely Trump’s fault for the entire thing, and the American people know it!

It’s amazing how Leftist have hijacked & jammed up the system, while trying to blame Trump for all❗️HyperHypocracy at its worst‼️

No, that’s not how it works. Congress was totally in agreement, both the Senate and the House of Representatives, then Trump changed his mind and said he wouldn’t sign any bill they sent to him without wall funding. So the House didn’t vote on it.

Reconciliation? Like Trump giving them twice the number of DACA recipients that they asked for? Lol, Dems look horrible to the American people right now, including the moderate Dems and Independents. Only the far leftists are still supporting Chuckles and Fancy Nancy.

“I am proud to shut down the government for border security, Chuck. … I will take the mantle. I will be the one to shut it down. I’m not going to blame you for it.” ~ President Donald J Trump on national
television (December 11, 2018)
And he got NOTHING for it. Nothing! I thought this was Mr. Art Of The Deal?

Wrong again Kscott, with reconciliation you don’t need 50 votes, it’s not our problem if you couldn’t get enough Republicans on board.

You are the one having trouble comprehending. The house passed a bill which was never brought to the senate because Democrats said they would not vote for it if it included wall funding (even though they supported that previously).
So neither bill was ever passed and nothing was submitted to the president.
Therefore, Congress owns the shutdown.

News flash... in any shutdown, the party that is demanding something is always at fault.
Democrats kept voting for measure in which they give in to Republican demands. Trump waited two years until he lost control of Congress. If he really cared and wasn’t trying to appease Limbaugh and Coulter, he would have this when he had the chance.

He didn’t have the Senate votes those 2 years. And yes, he shut it down but they kept it shutdown and refused to negotiate or pay the fed workers. They own it now. And now they’ve lost more than what it would’ve cost to just give him. So they gained nothing and lost everything.

And if the wall is already being built, there was absolutely no reason for a shutdown in the first place, and that makes Trump look like even more of an ass!

No, zimmy, it takes 60 Senate votes. There weren’t even 60 Senate Reps and still isn’t. But the wall funding did pass the House.
Don’t fret. He’s building the wall already and exposing the Dems as not caring about Americans. Win-Win.

LOL, TJ. The law doesn’t say what you want it to say.
“The Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA) generally prohibits foreign nationals from directly or indirectly donating or spending money in connection with any U.S. election. ... In addition, FECA prohibits the knowing solicitation, acceptance, or receipt of contributions from foreign nationals.”
Emails showing illegal activities are not contributions. Even if the legal system deemed them to to be, it is a civil penalty, a fine.

And now even Trump is blaming Ryan... thehill.com/hilltv/rising/427818-president-trump-blames-paul-ryan-for-gop-failure-to-deliver-border-wall
If this were a true national emergency, why didn’t Trump build the wall during the two years he had unified government? The reason... house and senate Republicans kept pushing him off. The reason... many, many Republicans don’t support the wall. The chamber of commerce types love cheap labor.
The fact is, when they had power the Republicans couldn’t agree on (almost) anything. They couldn’t even repeal Obamacare, as promised for 7 years. At the end of the day the only thing they could all agree on was driving up the national debt in the name of class warfare… namely, borrowing $2 trillion from our nation’s future to transfer wealth from the lower and middle classes to the upper class. Sad!

Dems look so horrible we were able to take the House back, and Trump is at his lowest popularity in his already failed Presidency! But let’s shut the government down again, because it worked so well the last time! 😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪🤪

He’s using the military to build it but it should’ve had its own funding. Politics is always about optics. He exposed them as anti-American while still doing his job to protect the people with the wall.

Since the “wall” is solely a Department of Homeland Security issue, during the shutdown Democrats in the HoR passed several stop gap bills funding all the other Departments which included the previous demands by Republicans that the Democrats caved to. Republicans then wouldn’t even take the bill that included THEIR demands. Why wouldn’t Trump and Republicans agree to fund the unrelated Departments???
