Arizona Senator Jeff Flake has refused to rule out challenging President Trump for the 2020 Republican nomination, as has Ohio Governor John Kasich. Would you personally like to see someone mount a serious primary challenge to President Trump?

No, a fractious caucus is the only way Trump loses in 2020, unless Bernie wins with the Dems, or the GOP loses the Senate. And Trump has shown he can govern better than any recent Democrat. Although, I do wish it were a normal thing for incumbents to get primaried.

Kasich would have a better chance running as a Democrat. Ohio Republicans hate him, he is a RINO.

So Kasich supports you are in for another upset. Especially when he wasn’t that strong of a candidate when there were 11 to pick from.

I think it’s always good to have a choice. If the challenger has a poor campaign, then we don’t have to choose them. There’s nothing wrong with providing more options for the people, in my opinion.

No one is going to challenge the incumbent. It would be political suicide. And of course the democrats are going to say that they want challengers. But I think the democrats need to worry about their own house and finding a viable option, because so far I haven't seen one.

Regardless of who is currently in office, we should always look for improvements.
Why? Because if we aren’t looking to improve, we are looking to degrade.

No. It’s all about making the opposition look like fools. Everyone knows President Trump is not guilty of any crime while everyone knows that Barry Soetoro and Hillary Clinton are guilty as sin. They left four Americans to die in Benghazi to cover up their gun running operation to ISIL and the only Senator who had the balls to ask Hillary Clinton about it was Rand Paul. Rand Paul in 2024!

If the economy tanks, the Russian probe shows backdoor collusion, and/or relations with China, NK, and the Mid East go to shit, then Kasich, or an up and coming new face will challenge Trump, and I think they'd win. But the stage has to be set.

I will push for a challenge if and when Trump strays from Constitution. Don’t like his talk of licensing journalists and that kind of crap, but that is rhetoric. If he were to actually try to make that happen, I’d want him out. Otherwise, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by his policies, especially foreign policy. I WOULD like to see conservatives push a little more influence on him, but he’s still been better than I had expected.

That said, I can imagine no circumstance where I would support Flake or Kasich over him. They are absolute RiNO disasters!

I could support Cruz or Mike Lee from senate or Jim Jordan from house, but not Flake or Kasich. That would be major step backward.

OTTO - Strictly speaking the constitution only provides the president with the power to make treaties and appoint ambassadors with the advice and consent of the Senate. What foreign policy has he enacted that met that constitutional limit?

I thought we agreed that Trump's raising tariffs on steel without congressional approval violated A1S8? I argued it also violated A2S2, but you felt it only violated A1S8.

Hasn't he already violated the constitution multiple times?

Yes, but they'd have no chance because the Republican party no longer cares about logical reasoning. The reamaning Republicans that oppose Trump are quickly vanishing and it is becoming the party of Trump.

LOL I doubt Flake could beat Trump out, he has a worse approval rating than Trump among Rs. Kasich already lost against Trump once, he didn’t even come close, so I doubt he’d be 2nd time lucky. Rs need someone else to beat Trump out.
