Yes, but those teachings are incomplete. We are all doomed to hell, but there is salvation in Jesus's sacrifice on the cross and resurrection. Salvation is a free gift to us and all we have to do to avoid hellfire is accept it.

John 3:16 God so loved the world that he gave his only son so that WHOEVER believes in him will have eternal life. I'm pretty sure that means everyone who believes. So if a gay believes in God then they are saved through Jesus.

Based on what I know of Christianity I don't think Jesus would condone that any more than he would condone a Christian church enforcing kosher food.
Point being, I haven't been able to find where in the New Covenant homosexuality is mentioned.

Or know ye not that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not led astray. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate men, nor homosexuals,

The thing about homosexuality is that many churches do not even recognize it as SIN even though God has deemed it an ABOMINATION. We are all sinners in need of a Savior including homosexuals.

Through Christ all is forgiven? What happened to that part of Sunday school? I missed the part through about mans interpretation and judgement you go to Hell? Learn that daily though...people create Hell on earth through greed, judgement, condemning

Hmmm. Just my opinion here. This is better than the churches that condemn homosexuality completely, however, I am more inclined to believe that homosexuality isn't a son at all and Jesus knows it :)

I agree. However, I feel that gays won't ask for forgiveness simply because they believe it's a part of them and not a sin. I think it's harder to leave a lifestyle behind that to make a resolution to stop lying.

I have to reject the premise of the question. I never made a choice to be heterosexual. I don't believe gays ever chose to be gay. With the possible exception of the concept of "original sin", I don't believe a person can sin without choice.

Love the sinner, hate the sin. I suspect he would tolerate it. However, they are slaughtering queers now in the Middle East, 2000 years ago they would have more restraint?

So long as you accept homosexuality is a sin, you must realize that it is in a class all by itself. The simple fact is that if homosexuality were just another sin, it would manifest as just another sin. But it does not.

Well they'd still have to repent like it were any other sin. But yeah. I've kinda had that mentality for awhile now.

Wow I hope your church isn't telling you you're all doomed to hell. While the Bible does say all sin is equal in Gods eyes, it certainly never teaches we're doomed because of it (on the contrary actually). sounds like you need a new church.

I'm an atheist so I don't believe Jesus was a god but I understand he was a man of peace, love, and inclusion. I don't think he would be hateful toward gays.

Well the Bible states that all sins are equal in God's eyes. It also states that because of sin (any sin) we are doomed to eternal life in Hell, but Jesus took the form of a man on earth to die and pay the eternal price for our sins.

I have no knowledge of anything saying in the bible that the sin of being gay is by any means a cardinal sin that sends you straight to hell and that it's in fact any worse than any other sin in the bible. Everyone sins in some form. Do not judge
