It's time for the socialists to man up and defend their record, approximately 200,000,000 people in the last century were directly murdered by their policies and some multiple of that indirectly,...

It'll work as long as their parents pay for it, or the government subsidizes their cost.

Let's be honest. I like the IDEA of social healthcare, but the chance that it will fly in America is not likely. If you have to run pr campaigns to sell the idea, it's not really as popular as you're making it out to be, is it?

They create ACA with a financial model that depends on young people signing up but at the same time lets them be on their parents plan until they are 26. What could possibly go wrong?

Young people don't care about health insurance unless they're covered by the parents plans.

"Young," under 26 stay on parent's ins. Those who can get job will be working trying to scrape $ for debt. Those not under parent's ins/over 26, can't afford premiums cuz = paying for 2-3 ppl's ins to cover sex change & artificial insemination, etc

Not all young people will be covered under the parents plans. They can also get catastrophic care. They could also qualify because of Medicaid issues

is it any wonder that the douche bag insurance companies would all of a sudden drop people who were already covered for expensive treatments they really didn't want to cover in the first place? Try a little independent thought.

ldsmom02
02/03/14 4:41 pm

Here is an independent thought. Two siblings with families. Both need health care. One family will have to pay quadruple with the ACA. The other will have benefits because of pre existing conditions. Good for some. Bad for others.

ken08106
02/03/14 6:34 pm

The one paying quadruple will opt not to pay anymore. Then no one but our govt debt is paying for the pre-existing conditions one. Then when family A has an issue, only then will they sign up. Bc why not.

ken08106
02/03/14 6:36 pm

Stilleto- So you mean market competitive then? Where companies have to compete with each other for business thus lowering costs and increasing value/service due to prisoners dilemma. Crazy how free markets work. Govt regulation impedes this.

StilettoMiss SF med law, meme queen

Let's not forget that sometimes it takes government regulation for people to be decent human beings. Other times it takes court rulings to bring about that same end result. Don't be so naive to believe in the benevolence of largely mediocre people.

StilettoMiss SF med law, meme queen
02/03/14 6:44 pm

That's the problem with the conservative ideology. People are so wrapped up in this status quo and maintaining it that they forget all progress has come from moving beyond the status quo. Like giving black people the ability to vote. Then women.

I should say over regulation. Healthcare is regulated so heavily that no new businesses will ever be able to spring up and smaller ones are being pushed out.
The US needs to adopt longer healthcare contracts like 5-10 years instead of annually.
