One of my very dear friends posted that she’s going to give up pasta to loose weight. Isn’t that considered unpatriotic for Italians?
Screw dieting. I need my bread and pasta
Yes! 🍝 🇮🇹 ❤️
Please inform your friend that “fad diets” and eliminating foods you love is neither heathy nor the proper way to lose weight/burn fat. The single most important thing is burning more calories than you consume daily. What you actually eat, it turns out, is much less important as long as you follow that rule.
She will struggle to keep morale high by using this outdated method, and she will almost certainly have relapses and excessive setbacks.
Not sure about that. I am much healthier on a low carb diet. I lost over 100 lbs and have kept it off. It is true I get over 30 minutes aerobic a day.
Italians don’t just eat pasta. At least my Italian family doesn’t. 🇮🇹
This a in fun joke. I’m also low carb and Irish no potatoes
Agreed. When I was in Venice I had a local dish - "Sarde in saor" anchovies w/onions and pine nuts, polenta on the side.
It definitely wasn't my favorite dish in Italy, but I like to try the local fare.
I would also. I can’t have gluten so I have limits.
She can have rice pasta or cauliflower pasta
There is pasta made from lentils, chickpeas, quinoa, lots of options besides standard flour.
Those are still high in carbs. I use miracle noodles or zucchini noodles. This was in fun. The lady that posted it it’s on one of my other post and I consider her a very good friend.
If she’s Italian...she’ll come back to us. Just give her time 🇮🇹
How much does she eat?
I am not sure she’ll probably pop in here. I consider her a very dear friend although we’ve never met
It’s a sin in God’s eyes!!😞
No. We are more than pasta. Fish, chicken, fresh veggies. I have given it up. I don’t miss it.
You've left me speechless but that is one of the best poll questions I've seen recently.😂😂😂
can she eat like veggie pasta? or noodles made out of squash or edamame?
Pasta is a “no-no” when trying to lose weight.
Your friend rocks!
It’s not what you give up but watch you eat going forward.
There's more to Italian food than pasta and pizza.
They have great antipasti, seafood, salads etc.
A Mediterranean diet is said to be healthy.
I use zucchini for my lasagna
Zucchini lasagna is delicious!
