President-elect Trump this week says it's OK to say 'Merry Christmas' again; do you think more retailers should go back to saying 'Merry Christmas' instead of 'Happy Holidays'?
I am agnostic but was raised Jewish... I am also currently in Uber driver. This time of year when people get out of my car I say to them Merry Christmas
I am so over this stupid "Merry Christmas" versus "Happy Holidays" thing. Talk about whining over nothing. Which ever is said, another person is wishing you well. Run with it and be appreciative.
I say that due to the fact that they'd be keeping employees away from their families, which takes away from the holiday. Therefore, they'd have no right to say "merry Christmas."
If they are open Christmas or the day before, maybe, but mostly as a matter of policy I'd think they would want to include all of the holidays in the season and not just the one day.
I don't think this matters one bit. The only thing that is important is that we wish other people well. Which words are chosen to do so... Not important.
Which is why the speech police should shut up and people should just say what they themselves want to say without any consideration for what the hearer would like to hear.
