Are you active in your local community?
College campus community? Sort of, I guess. It's hard to compare to a typical neighborhood.
I work in special education, so my job and personality kind of make me be active in youth activities, special olympics, local politics and the like.
I need to like people to do that.
In Poland I was, not in America because I just don't feel as connected to them as I would in Poland
Scout troop leader & member of local Environment & Sustainability Council, a citizen commission that advises the City Council on such matters (one of about 12 different such councils in the city that each handle a different subject area - environment/sustainability, transportation, planning, etc. - and act as a liason between the population and the City Council on matters in its purview).
I've also worked numerous presidential, senatorial, and congressional campaigns.
I volunteer for our local police department.
Not as much as I'd like to be.
I just really like the choices here. Nice wording.
Get off of my lawn
I don't even know what there is to be active in but no.
Get off my lawn. Castle doctrine for the win.
I know literally 1 person in my town.
I'm no Clint Eastwood, but most of my neighbors are new(ish) not very social themselves, so everybody just sticks to themselves. Every now and again someone comes to the door, girl scout cookies, car washes, whatever. I just
Ignore the doorbell..
Too boring around here, theres nothing going on to help with
Very much so :)
I live in New York City, so get off my sidewalk!
Sure! I ride my bike around my community, shop for my grocery's in it, patronize local waterin' holes and eateries, vote in it, buy my gas in it, pay various taxes in my community, etc., etc.
Yes, I'd say I'm quite active!
I never thought of it that way. Makes sense. I always want to partronize my local businesses first so they can continue to stay in business. I read the question as someone who is a philanthropist, a constant volunteer, which I am not.
Not really. We've helped fill sandbags when one of the neighbors had a creek that was flooding, and we leave a bag of canned goods at the town food bank every few months, but there isn't a lot of activity in my community to get involved in, or all that many people in it, for that matter. And that's a good thing.
How did you find my lawn?
Where are you going?
I belong to the Community Animal Response Team & the Community Emergency Response Team
I working 4 congressional campaigns, a senatorial campaign, trying to help the college republicans in MD grow to new chapters. Sadly I had to give up my congressional internship on the hill, not enough time.
Republicans in Maryland, that is a full time job right there.
I would like to be more than I am.
Our family does volunteer work at two community organizations.
My university community, yeah!
Yes but I won't vote for "it takes a village". The cornerstone of the community is the family, and I believe kids should be raised by their parents.
I'm tired of these muthafuckin kids on this muthafuckin lawn!!!!
Yes but seriously, stay off my lawn.
