So now that religion can be used to legally discriminate, should followers of the nation of Islam be allowed to kick white people out of their stores?
Yes. If someone wants to kick me out of their private store for any reason, they should be able to. Whether it's because I'm white, my nose is too big, I'm too tall, whatever.
And besides, I wouldn't want to receive service from someone who doesn't want to give it to me. That will most likely result in a below average product because generally, when you force someone to do something, they don't usually try very hard to ensure you're satisfied.
Private Businesses have the right to refuse anybody it’s private not government.
What do they sell? Hate whitey and jew stuff?
Aw, come on guys, it's adorable! Remember when "bourgeois" was the attempted insult of choice by these guys? At last months circle jerk they finally decided it was time for a change.
"What will really piss those inferior capitalist pigs off?" And this is the best they could come up with.
I'm sorry for coming off as rude, but everytime I see one of these guys use the word "cracker" I get a chuckle out of it. It's even better when I imagine them thinking that the word actually packs any sort of punch!
Yes they can lol. At least in my state. There is a law on the books.

Owners of private companies should be able to make poor decisions.
You can get your “Kill a Jew” tee shirt there.
No, the question said Nation of Islam. Crazy Louie runs that thing.
That is a gross miscatagorazation of what happened. The shop owner will sell anyone ready made goods but declined a request for a specific custom item. This is reasonable. I can't go into a bbq joint and expect to be able to request a vegan meal.
And if thats a successful business model, then they will thrive. If not, then economics will resolve the situation.
Nobody said they couldn't. They aren't forcing you to go to their store. The owner of a private business can refuse service to anybody for any reason.
But a fairer interpretation of the actual ruling would be to ask if a Nation of Islam tailor should be required to make robes for the KKK. No he should not.
Jim Crow was state mandated and occurred in the public sector. This is the private sector we're talking about.
The Nation of Islam isn’t Islam. They are different.
The Nation of Islam was created and is for American blacks. And they have different beliefs. Most Muslims do not recognize the Nation of Islam as real Muslims.
Same here, lol. It's even better when they show that they don't seem to know what it actually means.
Their insults only serve to make themselves into laughingstock.
You obviously have no understanding of the merits of this case..
Not really. They don't serve same sex wedding cakes. It is up to the business owner to determine what products they sell. In this case the owner will do custom orders of some things but not others. Just as a restaurant may allow you to substitute some items but not others.
This is a normal part of business. If you ignore the fact that you and I think he is a dick for drawing the line where he did, you quickly realize every business draws a line somewhere, and it is approperate that they do.
And if you dislike how they do business you are welcome to shop elsewhere. If I lived in Colorado I wouldn't shop at his bakery.
Rons you are correct. He will sell a ready made generic product but wouldn't do custom work.
Seems like you grasp the concept.
Maybe you should find a more modern insult that actually makes sense to use.
Mud ... nobody is surprised that you don’t understand the ruling today had everything to do with militant deviants using the corrupt government to take away the religious liberty of a business man.
No one can or should be compelled to engage in commerce against their will.
I ain't the socialist here sticks, I just need my lunch 😁
*laughingstocks. Autocorrect is terrible.
After reading all the below, let me add,
It was to be a wedding cake. I think that request alone is enough for a reasonable person to know it was a custom piece for a specific event. You are grasping at straws.
He refused to do the art work on the cake.
They had a sale on “kill a Jew” tees!
I think y'all are confusing Islam with the nation of Islam.
I didn’t want that “Kill a Jew” tee shirt anyway.
I thought he would sell a cake but not do any requested art work. He was noted for his decorations and art.
Private buisness who's primary purpose is public accommodation still have to uphold the equal protection law..
Yeah we did that once. It was called Jim Crow and a lot of people didn’t like it.
"The nation of Islam" 😔
I know right? Delicious snack they are.
No they can't lol
Most white people in the United States don't own slaves.
While it is a private buisness, it's primary purpose is the accommodation of the public which means they have to abide by equal protection laws. Right to refuse service signs doesnt mean they can refuse service on the basis of race, color, religion, or national origin or arbitrary discrimination
Rons, your joke isnt that funny even though you keep saying it...
"In 1954 the Supreme Court reversed Plessy in Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka. It declared segregation in public schools unconstitutional, and, by extension, that ruling was applied to other public facilities. In the years following, subsequent decisions struck down similar kinds of Jim Crow legislation"
Sure I think there should be protected classes. And I think if you look at things like the fair housing act we already have them.
That’s actually not necessarily true. Especially things like real estate. When real estate companies find loop holes in the fair housing act they immediately deny certain groups housing and this happens a lot. It makes it really hard to find affordable housing if you are a minority
...which should be repealed because it tramples on our freedoms.
Of course but the idea that the public and private sector didn’t require forced integration is oblivious. And the idea that segregation in either wasn’t harmful is also oblivious
Government didn’t force segregation in the private sector. They allowed for it.
