I believe that there may well be a god, an inspired creator, but I cannot possibly know it for certain.
Likewise I cannot know that there is not one.
I still choose to believe in one, but do not let it limit my exploration of different possibilities of metaphysical structure.
I am confirmed Catholic, but also a lapsed one. I believe that people are flawed and that even something divinely inspired, if it then must be transmitted through people (as all scripture are) are effected by the human capability to err. Which even further obfuscates what we can know about this god. There are some concepts in Abrahamic religions which seem directly in contrast to the idea of a loving creator god, but also some which seem extremely reasonable for the idea of a deity, like the concept that we are anthropomorphizing God when we say "was happy" "grew wroth" etc, which is an obscure (Judaic?) concept.

The closest thing to what I am is Catholic, but I don't know if I can rightly call myself a Catholic.
I more-or-less believe my baptismal vows, and I accept the credo, albeit it is made by man, and subject to the errant nature thereof.

I’m not sure how to answer that, or more accurately, how I define “important”. I wear a cross on occasion and pray. I believe in God and feel I have a solid relationship with Him. I don’t go to church and I don’t think about it everyday, but when I do, things are stable. I’m confident in my beliefs.

Neither am I zimmy.
I just wonder why God would create someone who was by default violating biblical law, with no choice involved. Doesn't seem fair to put someone on the highway to hell when they have no say about it.

I guess it all depends on the interpretation of God. Everything in religion is so variable, it’s a mess.

I'm upset that after doing it I can't talk to animals or anything. Charismatic gifts are supposed to come with the deal.
