California Rep. Ted Lieu walked out during a moment of silence on the House floor for the victims of the Texas church shooting. He then created a Facebook video advocating for more gun control. Do you see his actions as appropriate or disrespectful?

The video is fine even though I disagree with it, but walking out during a moment of silence? That's messed up

I would not expect respect for the dead from a California Democrat. They are beyond contempt!

His actions were tone-deaf and disrespectful. There is a time and a place to voice your opinion of make a statement about gun control, but a moment of silence for the victims of a massacre is not one of those times.

In other words, you're for disrespecting the dead by using their corpses to advance your own political agenda.

What a silly question shippy! Because it doesn't fit their narrative nor their objectives. Geeze....what were you thinking? Or were you expecting them to have well thought out objective reasoning?

Glux, why don’t the gun control “twits” talk about about the two brave men carrying guns that stopped the killers in the Church killings in , Antioch Tn. & New Braunfels Tx❓

Neither?

I find his actions hypocritical.
More gun regulations would not have stopped this killer, they would have stopped the hero's.

Projection. Feigning concern for the dead to avoid discussing measures that might mitigate mass shooting in the future is disrespectful.

Asking your imaginary friend to grant wishes hasnt accomplished anything and never will. He's calling for real action to be taken. Quite pretending to give a shit about murder victims.

And how does passing another law restricting the constitutional rights of Americans while hoping that criminals will suddenly start following the law help solve problems like this? How is that strategy working in Chicago? How is it working in Baltimore? Oh yeah, those cities have sky-high (and rising) murder rates. Or better yet, how did it work in this very case? The shooter was already prohibited by law from owning a firearm due to prior offenses. So yes, you are advancing a political agenda while using the victims of this massacre as a prop for your cause, because if this was really about finding a way to stop shootings like this from happening again, then people like you and Ted Lieu would start looking for real solutions instead of doubling down on a policy that has already proven to be an abject failure when implemented.

Why? Because it's a played out, boring who cares, statement? Now when I see or hear someone famous say "our thoughts and prayers are with you" or "let's have a moment of silence for.." I'm like YA RIGHT

That's just the thing, bower. You aren't offering up a solution. Neither is Congressman Lieu. All you are doing is spouting DNC talking points and advocating for the enhancement and expansion of gun control laws despite the fact that they have failed time and time again. What you are doing is the definition of insanity: proposing and advocating for the same failed idea over and over again while expecting different results.

Most killings by juvenile gang members, illegal aliens and criminals are with illegally obtained guns. Gun control disarms law abiding citizens and make us targets as much as cops parked in a patrol car!

I support gun control. I don't have any political motives behind it. Say I've been brainwashed if you must, but what could I, an 18 year old, want to gain from having less guns besides safety?

And maybe it's considered disrespectful by some standards. But in my option the best way to show respect for victims is to make sure nothing like that happens again.

Ask first why they were put into this position in the first place - then they wouldn’t have to be hero’s

BlackC, I hope that you realize that President DipShit and his two super loyal Attorneys General had eight years to do everything that you think President Trump should have done in one year. I admit that President Trump is much more productive and decisive, but your issues are Democratic Party objectives. President DipShit Obama was a great talker and a lousy doer. Your Party has the same problem!

Saying empty words every week is much more disgraceful to the innocent dead . 20 first graders blown up by a Ar15 and thoughts and prayers failed to bring them back or prevent more crazies from getting easy access to high power killing machines .

No he is spot on. The republicans are fully aware who pay their bills and it’s not their constituents . It’s simple to repeat over and over again “ let’s pray” but wouldn’t it be better and say “let’s pray” and then say “let’s get down to brass tacks “ and pass a bill that 94% of Americans want is tougher gun control laws? But no the terrorist group ,the NRA , has them by the financial balls.

Shippy and BlackC, if the laws actually on the books were enforced universally and the Federal Government worked to ensure communication between all law enforcement agencies, the murder rate might just decline. Our tax dollars have been wasted by self important incompetent bureaucrats for much too long! Donald Trump knows how to get things done for less money and with efficiency. We need to all get behind him, because he is our President. If he fails, we all fail!

There you go - the subject is what to do to reduce the quantity of death caused by the easy access to guns of high volume of death in minutes and you bring in justification for deaths caused by other things. Stop. Recall before seat belts became mandatory , or drinking in cars or high speed limits or vendors making unsafe vehicles or now texting the death toll in cars was much higher than today albeit still to high
