Do you currently have a pumpkin in your house?
Yes, but it's for eating.
You make me want one! :)
I have a can of pumpkin;)
Yes, but the four we have are out in front and are not real.
Did but ate them. Canned pumpkin today.
I have a light up pumpkin on my solar powered mailbox. Does that count?
It's in the can getting ready to be made into a pumpkin roll
We're having a carving party this afternoon :)
Yes I had to grow some for my grandchildren..
You grew some? Cool! We tried growing them one year...didn't turn out too well. Glad yours were successful!
I LOVE pumpkin seeds. So we have a few pumpkins :)
Me too!! They're the best!
They kinda taste like popcorn to me... Do they taste like that to you?
Hmm...not really. They have a pretty distinctive seedy taste to me.
I toast mine and add salt with tons of butter, so that could be it... :P
Haha I like the popcorn-style pumpkin seeds idea. I just throw on a bit of salt and throw them in the oven.
They're delicious! I wish pumpkins were more available year round. I'd make pumpkin seeds all the time.
Me too! You can buy them, but they're super expensive and don't taste the same as the ones you make yourself. It makes it more special anyway :)
Yeah, making them is half the fun. And they're more fresh. Like cookies. Nothing beats homemade :)
Exactly! Now I'm getting super hungry for homemade cookies :P
And popcorn-like pumpkin seeds! Haha
Yum! I'll have to try that if we get one
No, but at our school we have a Pumpkin Chunking where all juniors build catapults and throw pumpkins
That sounds awesome. I'm jealous that your school does that :)
Haha, it seems awesome, but I won't be able to see because I'll be setting up for our Haunted House that night. I'll be lying on a table covered in red paint with someone pretending to be Jason tanning over me with a fake chainsaw
That sounds almost as exciting as pumpkin catapults! Have a good time :)
WVU's engineering college has an annual Pumpkin Drop, where people compete to drop a protected pumpkin from a tall building & have it land close to a target & unharmed. Maybe not as much fun as watching them ALL go splat, but some do anyway.
That's really cool too! In middle school we had an egg drop where we did the same thing with eggs off the roof of our school. Not as climactic as with pumpkins, I'm sure.
Awesome!! Sounds fun, but I don't think eggs are as fun to clean up! It does make a little sad to see about 50 tasty pumpkin pies go splat though!
Yes, I just need to carve it
Carving pumpkins is so fun :) I think this year mine is too small to carve, unfortunately.
It is fun! That sucks. Are you gonna do anything with it?
Probably not. Just let it sit there so people can admire it :)
Or maybe I'll sharpie a face onto it.
I like the sharpie a face onto it idea
I usually really enjoy Halloween, but I haven't done anything this year yet.
It's not too late yet :)
Man, I guess I should celebrate the season with more than just pumpkin bread, and pumpkin donuts, and oh! pumpkin scones... :)
Those are good too though! Don't forget pumpkin bagels, pumpkin pie, and pumpkin lattes :)
Aw man, now I'm hungry! And I desperately need to go to sleep! :(
True, I really want pumpkin bread now! And why are you going to sleep at 1pm? haha
Because I work nights, 7pm-7am. I'd normally be asleep way before now, but you all are just too damned interesting this morning!
Haha well I apologize for being so interesting :) get some rest! And good luck on sohoa tonight! That'll be really interesting.
Thanks! I'm super nervous but really excited too. I've wanted to give it a shot since Tony first talked about it.
It's awesome that you're getting a chance to go on then :) have fun with it!
In? No. But we usually put a couple outside. Not this year though.
Aw you should get one. Or a bunch.
I just got one. I'm not too big on decorating for holidays, but you have to have a pumpkin for Halloween :)
It's not that big of a requirement.
Fine, I guess it's more of a personal goal than a requirement.
There ya go.
One real pumpkin. Lots of pumpkin decorations :)
