Job hunting now. Feels good to have my resume in good shape again.

As an HR Professional, it is always a good thing that you keep your resume current. No job is secure these days.

@anarchy Here's another tip. Stand up! Use those legs of yours (and 6 pack)! If you go to before the month is over, there are some free articles about standing vs. sitting for the majority of the day by Clarence Bass, for his…

Anarchy do you have trainers at your gym? Sorry I missed your second post. I do crunches in the water can't see my abbs. I could use a mirror. I'm 62. I do a lot of core work in my classes. I've had low potassium and was benched boy can I tell the difference. Have you tried cutting carbs?

@3rdSide haven't got the crust recipe yet did you try the Bobs Red Mill sight?

11/03/11 10:43 am

trucking is always hiring, only way I would ever have a hard time finding a job would be if I ruined my own record (DUI, tickets, etc) no resume needed.

Shazaam - A quick Google search brings up a whole lot of people who say The Ladders is a scam. I wouldn't pin my hopes on them.

@gjb2779 and congrats to you too!

If you were making at least 100K, send the 30 odd bucks and list on the ladders. Well worth the cost for access to top tier Recruiters.

I was laid off just days before teachers were to report back to work in August, so my resume has been revised a couple of times just in the past 2 months.

i updated mine a little over a year ago. 1,000 people had to apply for 750 remaining slots.

11/02/11 10:44 pm

my job requires an updated resume each year...otherwise I probably wouldn't have.

recruiter friend tld me to save your resume on sites like dice, monster, etc. every friday. it puts your name on the top. also, put key words atr the end so it will come up on the hit. SAP, program manager, etc.

11/02/11 9:44 pm

applied for one job at the behest of a friend in January, just to humor him, not expecting anything, much less a good enough deal to pull me away. They chose me, and gave me all my demands. So now I'm in South Carolina at a new job

11/02/11 8:21 pm

No, I've been in my job for almost 2 years now.

@Tops, no I haven't but I will now. By the way I googled rural hospitals and "Oregon office of rural health" came up! Haha I guess you live in a good state for that.
Thanks for the tip!

11/02/11 6:50 pm

No, been at the same place for 25 years. Married one of the two owners almost 20 years ago, and the other one (a dear friend) passed almost 14 years ago. So now we're a Mom 'n' Pop shop. I wouldn't even know what to put on a resume, after so long in a small outfit (he & I, & 2 part-timers).

I'm a freelance writer - I regularly update mine because you never know when a potential client will request one.

Is this strictly a job resume or do extra-occupational applications apply to this question as well?

11/02/11 3:18 pm

Change "12 months" to "12 hours" and my answer would still be YES. Whatever it takes to appeal to the hiring manager.

Valerie have you tried a rural hospital?
Where I live we get doctors that way.

valeriejo ramble on
11/02/11 2:13 pm

No but I will be soon! Trying to find a position in a hospital so I can my working hours can count toward my internship and I won't have to do a shitty unpaid internship that the school wants to provide me with.

Wish me luck!

....(high rep for lean muscle...not trying to bulk up)...but that six pack....alway just out of reach...peeks through if I twist or flex. maybe I'm just old and have hit the wall

11/02/11 1:38 pm

believe me...I have undiscovered it...I have lost 22 lbs in the last year, but seem to have tapered off just shy of my glorious college six-pack abs of steel. I work out 5x a week, and do a healthy mix of cardio and weight training

Undiscovere beer.  I'd say do crunches. Belly and neck fat are the most unhealthy places to have it. I'm not an expert mind you. Just do a lot of reading. You go hiking if I remember right get some trekking poles. I got mine at WalMart.
