This happened: A homeless man, who has a son 13, is denied welfare/assistance, gets caught stealing food for himself and his son and gets arrested. Charged with petty theft, child endangerment, and corruption of a minor.
Guilty but very lenient sentencing. There was still a victim of this crime that didn't cause the aid being denied. Very sad. I hope someone helps them.
Because his court appointed attny proved he attempted to get aid and was denied, the charges were dropped. The child's mother took him back in because without him she could not get aid or as much aid anyway. He remained homeless.
Maybe just for petty theft, not the other charges though
Why was he denied ?
I'd need to know more info, such as why he was rejected for aid.
Homeless, with a child, and doesn't qualify for aid? The system is so broken :(
Well... I think he is guilty. For punishment he should get a Habitat for Humanity house and some food stamps. A job would be even better.
