“A Somali family in Minnesota stole $5.6 million dollars from taxpayers and only gets 6 MONTHS in jail. The family gets to KEEP THE MONEY and only gets 6 months in jail.” Are the prosecutors and judges complicit in allowing this fraud with a slap?

You are part of the problem, buddy! You’re completely fine with them stealing your tax dollars, what a joke you are. You’re probably just a 13-year-old troller anyways. 😂😂 Goodness gracious. 🤦🏽‍♀️

A terrible ruling, and the judge who made it should be at least put under intense scrutiny (at the very least).

But bad, you got it wrong. They weren’t allowed to keep the whole $5.6 million! They had to repay $500k, totally makes up for it!

Wow. What a great deal huh?🤔

That one person, Zamzam Jama, had to pay that 500k restitution. She was a low level person in the Brava Restaurant group that was determined to have stolen 4.3 to 5.3 million. There were 6 of them, she was the first to be sentenced. The other 4, one of them died in 2023, will be paying the rest of that restitution and will be given heavier sentences. Multiple homes have already been seized from them to go towards that restitution.

Well thank god. Would we even know about this if the republicans hadn’t won in 2024? Because it seems like Walz was just fine with letting the theft go on. Do you think that they were on the take and telling law enforcement to look the other way?

BaxterSanchez Amarillo
Apr 02, 7:19 pm

Actually yeah, it seems the FBI began that investigation in 2021 and over 70 people had already been indicted prior to the 2024 election.

Bad, these fraud investigations have been happening for a while, before Trump got back in power. So yes, we would have known.

I'll have to watch that sometime tomorrow. If there was any type of complicity by any government officials then I'm for charging them. And just right now I kinda did a bit of a dive into this. So if I read this right, the Minnesota department of education stopped paying the checks. Then they got sued by the scammers. A judge ruled against the state saying they didn't have legal authority to stop payments yet. The state still hesitated and the judge found them in contempt of court. And it seems the FBI was doing their investigation in the background. Later the state said the judge made them pay. The judge said, the state didn't prove fraud. The state said they were trying to play it carefully cause they didn't wanna fuck up the FBI's investigation. Anyways, in the morning, I'll totally look into that video you sent

You have to assume two things. Number one people don’t know where the money comes from. They think the federal government is a piggy bank…2. . Don’t know it’s our tax dollars, a lot of people break their backs to pay..

Bad, I agree 100% with him. None of these first generational immigrants should be allowed to hold office, ever! Also they shouldn’t be allowed to collect welfare for their households after bringing all their family members over. Just makes me furious! And for them to steal from us and pretty much get away with it, is insane. Omg sorry, he said so much, I can’t remember all of it, lol but as I was listening, I agreed with him throughout it. There was a real fraud case, but this post is oversimplifying it.
Sentences are based on specific charges, cooperation, and what can be proven—not just the headline dollar amount.
And no—courts don’t just let people “keep the money.” There are forfeitures and restitution orders in place.

Oh. It said there was forfeiture and restitution. But $400,000 is nowhere near $5.6 million. Where is that money?

BaxterSanchez Amarillo
Apr 02, 8:01 am

The $491,000 is only her share because she was a lower-level player in the family business. The rest of that $5.6 million (and the larger $250+ million) is being recovered through her family members and co-conspirators.

BaxterSanchez Amarillo
Apr 02, 8:23 am

Well in regards to the 5.6 million for her group, she was the first one sentenced. So TBD on the rest. I know there was another person from another group that got 12 years and an order to pay 48 million in restitution. I could get you a link to an article that mentions the rest still need to get their sentences if you really want it, I guess

The part that always gets lost in these posts is how charges, plea deals, and restitution actually work. The headline number is rarely what any one defendant is sentenced on.

bringstheeagle Colorado
Apr 02, 1:04 pm

And yes anyone might get a similar sentence.

BaxterSanchez Amarillo
Apr 02, 6:51 pm

Yeah they were a low level person, and made a plea deal. The heavier sentences have been given to those that were running the operation and taken it to court

- **The X post highlights a real case** from Minnesota's Feeding Our Future fraud scandal, where the Jama family at Brava Restaurant in Rochester falsely claimed to serve 1.7 million meals in one year, netting their family $5.6 million in federal child nutrition funds during COVID.
- **Zamzam Jama received a 6-month prison sentence**, asset forfeiture of her house, car, and $150k, plus $400k-$490k restitution for her money laundering role, but most of the family’s stolen funds have not been recovered.
- **This is one of dozens of convictions** in a $250 million scheme exploiting pandemic meal programs, with light sentences drawing criticism over deterrence and taxpayer recovery in large-scale government fraud.

Jared Kushner got 2 billion dollars from Saudi Arabia and nobody seems to care what Saudi Arabia got back in exchange for that money.

The key with corruption is to go BIG. A few million gets you a prison sentence. However, a couple billion gets you a wink and a nod.

Jared Kushner got $2B 🤣🤣🤣
A quick look at Grok shows:
'The $2 billion is not Kushner’s personal money. In standard private-equity structure, it is limited-partner (LP) capital that Affinity Partners manages and invests (primarily in U.S. and Israeli companies). Kushner’s firm (as general partner) earns management fees (reportedly ~1.25% annually on the Saudi portion, or about $25 million per year) plus a share of future profits (“carried interest”).
