Do you think it’s ok for a sitting president to attend arguments at the Supreme Court? πŸ›οΈ

“Legally? Probably fine. Optically? Not so much. The whole point of separation of powers is that the branches operate independently—showing up in person, especially on a case tied to you, can feel like pressure whether intended or not. Even if nothing improper happens, it risks eroding trust in the Court’s neutrality. Add security, spectacle, and media swirl, and it turns a judicial process into something that looks a lot more political than it should.”

As long as he dosent disrupts the proceedings then I don’t see the big deal. Honestly I think the everyone should be able to sit and watch as long as you are quiet and don’t disrupt the proceedings.

I like my Branches of government separated. Trump doesn’t have a good record for making constitutional EOs so no wonder he’s there.

I'm indifferent other than I think it's a poor use of his time as president. Court proceedings are way more boring than the TV shows make them look.

Maybe he'll learn something while he's there. Unlikely but maybe

Should it be allowed? Sure. Is it a good look? No.

Zim … yet another childish poll where you didn’t drop to weigh the idiocy of your hysteria.

Do Justices of the US Supreme Court attend the President’s State of the Union speech? How about members of Congress, do they also attend?

You must be hysterical about all of this collusion, right?

There are three equal branches of government. A act by our founders.of checks and balances. Trump going to the supreme court is inappropriate as activists judge making law from the bench.

Robert … you couldn’t be more wrong.

But let’s test your honesty … do Supreme Court Justices attend the President’s State of the Union speech? How about members of Congress, do they also attend?

Hoe dare we have all three branches in attendance when the President speaks to the American people? We must stop this attack on our constitutional republic IMMEDIATELY!

I don’t know what the rules are regarding named litigants or defendants.

While it is obviously unusual, I actually welcome the attention that a sitting president would bring to the goings on of the Supreme Court. I think most Americans don't pay attention to it, other than what their party tells them to think, in spite of being one of the most important functions in the United States government.

I'm trusting that the judges are not going to see this as some undue pressure (which, of course is what the intent is in this case) and roll over in spite of facts.

Obviously an attempt at intimidation. No sitting president has ever attended a supreme court argument.

• Optics of Authoritarianism
• Psychological intimidation
• Personal fear that another decision πŸ‘ŽπŸ»
• Trump’s grand attendance demonstrates nothing but the fact that he is a weak man that learned how to be the biggest bully in the ‘hood.

Wow - this is quite strange.

What experience would the public have on the attendance at SCOTUS events?

I predict the left leaning answers will all say no and the comments will focus on their dislike of the President and not any valid concerns with historic understanding.
