I don't think a reduced demand for food is necessarily a bad thing (except for the producers), especially if it makes for a healthier populace.
On a side note: taking weight-loss drugs may end up turning out to be a major health problem, as long-term effects will start to surface. Remember when everyone thought doping all the young, school-aged kids with ritalin and adderall was a good idea?

I am 74. Started a low calorie diet 20 months ago. I am disabled, have an autoimmune disease that limits my ability to move around, so no exercise & hypothyroid. I am 5’3” & have lost 80 lbs. 247# to 167#. This is the lowest I have weighed in 30 years. My doctor was disbelieving that I did not take Ozempic or similar drug. It was challenging, but I was steadfast and determined. I am now off of medication for high blood pressure and high cholesterol. This method may not work for everyone, but I am sure glad it worked for me. I am still working to loose another 30 pounds. One day at a time. My calories are 800 - 1,000 a day.
