Do you ever bring your own condiments into a sit-down restaurant?

I have a few times… But not frequently… I had a period of time where for medical reasons I was supposed to be avoiding several different oils which included not being able to have margarine so I took real butter with me a couple of times to a couple of places where I knew I was getting a baked potato or a baked sweet potato… Around that time I also took a thing of avocado mayonnaise for a sandwich somewhere... in both cases I took a small container with just enough for me I have done this with salad dressing around the same time I think.

Not only do I not do this, but the idea has never occurred to me!

No, that seems rude. Besides, I'm not picky. I can make most common condiments work in a pinch.

When I was avoiding wheat, I would bring a small container of coconut amino to use in place of soy sauce whenever we went for sushi. And I used to being sugar-free salad dressings with me when going to places I intended to have salads.

Not so much anymore, as it is more mainstream now, but I used to keep a pocketful of Cholula hot sauce. Plain Tobasco sauce never did it for me

That would be pretty tacky.

I don’t use anything in table. Don’t EVER use ketchup out of the bottle. It’s full of bacteria. They don’t throw bottles away and time there at end of bottle they merge it with another almost empty bottle. I do not take ice in my drink nor lemon. Both crawling with bacteria. I do not use those half and half creamers on table because that’s not milk or cream. I instead ask for milk from kitchen.

I don’t, but I eat out about once a month with women who are in my age bracket. One of them usually gets a salad and will bring her own salad toppings and dressing (sometimes in addition to the restaurant’s dressing).

No, if I need a different condiment, then I just get the food to go.

Frequently. I’m very discreet, and bring in small plastic containers, not huge bottles of anything.

For coffee, I bring my own full-fat cream sweetened with a tad of monk fruit.

I’ll also bring my own salad dressings, free of sugar and seed oils.

Also, depending on restaurant I will bring my own sugar-free ketchup, avocado mayonnaise, and coconut aminos.

I bring coconut aminos when I go out for sushi 😂😂😂 We don’t go out much because I don’t really know what’s in the food.

I know it’s a shame, because I so enjoy going out - but too many restaurants you don’t trust what goes on back in the kitchen, with bad oils and such.

I went out to a nice lunch with friends today - ordered a double cut pork chop with sautéed mushrooms, and started with a lobster bisque that was finished table-side, was very good, but I’m sure wasn’t 100% clean.

Yes, eating clean is hard! Add being gluten free and it's nearly impossible

I’m starting to see more gluten-free offerings when I do go out to eat. And, there are health food stores that are venturing into food prep. They seem to be much more aware of special dietary needs.

Yes, definitely more GF options available. For me, I have to confirm no cross contamination
