I understand that normal people may not understand that NATO is a defensive alliance, or even what that means, but Rubio damn sure does.

Rubio knows NATO has no obligation to support the US when it is the attacker. 🤦‍♂️

If referring to the federal government, yes it should.

A Europe that has always emphasized diplomacy, even with a despised and murderous regime like the Islamic Republic, is now turning against its own ally, the United States, and is no longer even willing to engage in diplomacy, instead constantly taking an oppositional stance.

This is extremely dangerous for Europe’s security. The continent stands directly exposed to threats from its enemies, and now more than ever, the West depends on the strength and unity of NATO.

I see that the UK and other European countries are less than willing to cooperate with America in this endeavor because the some of their populations are not in favor. But that brings up another matter IMHO. How did Europe become Muslim? How short our Christian memories are. The UK has all but overlooked the word of God within the Church of England. This is pertinent in their recent choice of Archbishop.
And how short are the memories of the Allies of WWII. Meaning England and France would be speaking German if it weren't for America.

NATO has outlived its usefulness. It's the international relations equivalent of a labor union. Necessary once upon a time, but now just an expensive hassle.

(For the record, I've been anti-NATO for a long time now. My views on NATO have not been changed or influenced by current events)

Probably time to start thinking about it. Several of those countries will be Muslim majority in 15-20 years. The Baltics, Poland and Hungary would be my choices, if we want to maintain forward deployed troops in Europe

Yes. NATO has no problem leeching off of us but won’t help when called upon.

I don't mind reducing the size of the military. We are spending way too much money that we don't have on the military.

Why would we give up strategic footing? Those bases aren't only about protecting someone else, they are about timely reaction around the world.

Geez! Has 🇺🇸lost all sense of diplomacy? Is our entire foreign policy based on the whining of a fool with dementia in the Oval Office?

Europe is more than willing to have the USA spend our treasure to cover their a$$ but are unwilling to be there when we need them.
