Butter all sides. Cheese on the middle. Fry til golden brown. Toss in a slice of tomato to make it look healthy or a couple dill pickles to take to Sodium Level even higher.

Home made apple pie or home made berry cobbler... We also make home made ice-cream to go with them. My wife makes these at the holidays, so I don't have too much longer to wait!

Not a fan of celery (it's the strings), but I really could OD on bell peppers. My comfort foods are bell peppers, apples, and grapes... Sorry doctalk, it's true! Occasionally, I would consider stuffing/dressing a comfort food, but not often.

Ahhh.... Glad some have refined tastes. I have been or am a recovered SugarHolic. No meal was complete in my youth w/o deserts. Veggie n Fruit munchies are NOW my Fav as well. But... If I did not know better... Home made Butterscotch pie.

Uncle John's Sat night tradition. He used an old fashioned kettle popper with a broken handle on top that stirred the corn. He had to twirl the handle stub with one finger! Then Mixed with his own farm fresh butter. Nothing better!

Lol! I'm sure they do. Fairgrounds and the like have them quite often. I use pancake batter slightly thicker then usual. They come out better in a deep fryer, but you can do it on your stove as well. :D

It's not my favorite comfort food, but I'm feeding my family once a week...soyrizo. Seriously, awesome stuff.

I like it with chopped vegis, such as onion, zucchini, carrot, peppers, and black beans. Sauté them and slap it in a corn tortilla.

I caved & googled, too. I'm not into soy substitutes in general, but I bet this would be better than most. I noticed there are several brands & some were even gluten free, but I think I'll stick with the fresh chorizo I buy at Earth Fare.

It's a flavor of Ben and Jerry's ice cream made with chunks of dark chocolate and cherries. It's so amazingly good I only have it on special occasions or when I really need cheering up.
