This weekend we will have another time change. These changes can cause spikes in suicides, heart attacks and cost the US billions of $$$$ while saving little in energy costs (link in comments). So why are we still having them?

Fortunately Arizona doesn't play that silly game.

I hate these time changes. They also mess up my daughter's sleep patterns for a couple weeks.

I don't like it, but I had no idea the negative impact it has. We should change it. The SOH contingency could start a movement! We CAN make a difference!

At least the kids here get to go to school while it's light out.

Wow, Shelly. I had no idea so much was associated with the time change. I have been wishing for a long time that we would just keep daylight savings time.

If we're to abolish it, please leave it sprung ahead. God knows I couldn't handle the sun coming up @ 5am in summer. I don't care if sundials won't be accurate.

You're right Shelly. We're to far south to make any difference. Hawaii and Arizona have it right. Let's start a movement and abolish daylight savings.

its not energy efficient les daytime the more the lights are on for signs, street lights, businesses and heating bills. less daylight means more lighting needed!

Causes a lot of car and pedestrian accidents too. I've always hated it. For a long time I lived in Indiana which didn't do daylight saving time but finally they even gave in. It's so stupid.

That's true. There are also a lot of accidents involving animals every spring because they are not aware we adjust the time and are out driving an hour early.

This is the one thing that I absolutely hate about this time of year. I'll start the count down to March when things are made right again!

It's all about me. Lol. It's being done solely to aggravate me - lol. I've hated it since I was a child. I do like this one but hate the spring forward.

I heard it suggested that it is to allowed the white collar people time to go golfing after work while there's still light. I have no better suggestion.

It's to save energy but since you're not into saving energy, it gives an extra hour of daylight in the Summer for family time, yard work, etc.

I believe in saving energy. I just don't believe this does.

I can understand it in very rural areas but in cities? Then again having say Jane county in one time and the next county an hour different could be chaotic

I love them. I like it when the sun goes down early. And gaining an extra hour of sleep.

That is a good point too - if it's costing billions - someone is making billions
