Merry Christmas (or Christmas Eve)! This time of year, do you say “Merry Christmas,” “Happy Holidays,” or something different?

I have not heard “Happy Holiday’s” once this year. Even the stores around here say Merry Xmas. I dont care at all what ppl say, but it stuck out to me that I havent heard it at all this year.

Normally I say “Merry Christmas,” but in professional settings, I say “Happy Holidays.”

What is said is unimportant to me. Being a little nicer, a little more cheerful, more generous is what is important. But, to answer the question asked today, on Christmas Eve? Merry Christmas.

When people say in response that they don’t celebrate Christmas, I ask what they do celebrate. Then, when they tell me, I wish them a “Happy (whatever it is they told me)”.

I use them interchangeably but most people in this area respond Merry Christmas 🎄 and Happy New Year. 🎈
