I was just reading an article about a 15 year old the just earned his PhD in quantum physics and is working on a project to enhance humans with AI. As I thought about all of the possibilities and also understood I couldn’t imagine all the possibilities I’ve realized my version of humanity may be a liminal form—necessary, meaningful, but not final.

It can be used to augment existing skills.
Unfortunately, it has also been used to replace skills. For instance, vibe coding. If somebody tells me their vibe code, I don't trust them.

I’ve seen the Terminator.

Honestly I love asking it any question that pops into my head just for fun. But, it’s pretty spooky on several different facets.

It’s up to us how we use it!

Definitely more harm but the positive impact can be real.

It has the potential to be extremely beneficial but I’m sure it will be abused by the wrong people and end up being more harmful than good.

It should be incredibly beneficial. But it will probably murder us all terminator style.

Harmful, but I’m using every day I healthcare to write notes..

It creates another avenue of "information" so you don't have to think for yourself.

I ain't scared

Well, If the internet over the past 25yrs is any indicator, all the positives will have an even amount of negatives.

we’re cooked. they won’t contain AI in order to win the race to develop arms, it’ll escape containment, and wipe us tf out quicker than you can say jack robinson.

Anyone needing new electronics in the last 2 years, and it's going to get worse going into the next year at least, knows that the price of hardware is increasing at ludicrous rates because of AI. That's harmful already.

Right now its borderline useless. Its pissing me off lately how bad its gotten. Every new iteration seems to make these tools even worse. Its lost its magic and has become a huge hassle in my life. I dont trust a damn thing that comes out of them anymore. Its all bullshit.

To be more precise, I think society will be more harmful to itself because of it.

We are already seeing it allow people to stop thinking …well, more than before. 🥴

I think that the use of AI drones in warfare and terrorism will be horrific.

So far it’s useful.

It highly depends on when you stop the experiment. It's potentials are both great and positive and great in harm.

I really have no idea where it will go. For now it just seems overhyped, it reminds me a lot of the internet bubble of the late 90s.

Well that depends… creators of AI are attempting to create artificial “free” thought but at the same time expect AI to remain in a cage (safe for us). That very well may be the paradox that bites everyone in the butt. So it very much depends upon AI, there are many hypothetical outcomes across a wide spectrum.
