...or are you proposing that you should carry their Halloween bags for them?

Are you the funny one around here?

Did something bad happen to you last Halloween? Or recently?

No, and I do not start on beginning a new tradition tonight.

Unless you're planning to buy crack afterwards, I'd leave it at home. But it's your choice...

Why haven't you posted another poll? Your polls look great!

Can if you want to, I guess. It's probably the least scary, least risky evening of the year though. Except for getting run over. Watch out for cars.

Only if they get too much candy. Then you should have your bag ready. Enjoy the fun. I miss it now that my son is all grown up.

a responsible patent would never leave their children defenseless

You can't trust a child to be responsible with a very harmful weapon.

You can trust some children, but note the question specifies the father would be carrying.

kougrakub
10/31/13 12:38 pm

As long as they completely understand their belonging, I don't think you could fully trust them.

Doopy Remedial Americanism
10/31/13 12:41 pm

What do you mean by "completely understand their belonging"?

kougrakub
10/31/13 12:51 pm

The child knows what the weapon can do to themselves and others, how to use it, when to use it, etc etc.

Doopy Remedial Americanism
10/31/13 1:00 pm

So as long as they comprehend the nature of weapons, children can't be trusted? That would be one of the stranger arguments I've heard.

kougrakub
10/31/13 1:02 pm

Allow me to correct myself, lol, if a child knows the capabilities and responsibilities of having such a weapon, then they can be trusted.

ALWAYS carry. That is one if the rules for carrying in general. The criminal always had time to prepare and likely came ready to do bodily harm.

If you feel the neighborhood isn't safe etc you probably should, or if you're new there, you probably should. Until you live in the place a long time and get to know people, I don't think you will need to carry if everyone checks out with you.

That may be true, chicken, but most of the people who live in Montana own a gun because there are so little people and officers in such a big state.

If you can open carry you should totally incorporate it into the costume no one will be the wiser.

Better to be armed with no one to shoot than unarmed with someone shooting at you!

I don't understand why his neighbors, whom he clearly does not consider a threat, would need to worry. It's not like the gun sits on his shoulder, saying "hey, you know what would be fun? Shooting all your neighbors"!

Doopy Remedial Americanism
10/31/13 12:40 pm

And the reason I don't understand it is probably that it's an illogical conclusion on it's face.

Rob Be Safe Be Smart

Yeah, worrying about an accidental shooting dealing with the neighborhood children is obviously illogical..

Doopy Remedial Americanism

Accidental shootings by legal carriers are extremely rare, far more so than stranger abductions on Halloween night.
