Do you enjoy the “what if’s” of history? What if Rome wasn’t conquered? What if the CSA won the civil war? What if Hitler was executed for treason in 1924? What if Oswald missed Kennedy? That sort of thing,
Yes, I do. The Man in the High Tower is such a tv show. It posits that Japan conquered the western US and Nazis conquered the eastern US, and middle America was no man’s land, where blacks, Christians, and Jews had to flee to.
I also enjoyed 11.22.63, which is a tv show about a guy going back in time, trying to prevent the assassination of Kennedy.
Yes. Why would that surprise you? I even tried to read the book afterwards, and I can tell you that whoever wrote that screenplay is a GENIUS. The book is BORING, one of less than a handful of books I haven’t finished reading in my lifetime. I read at least 1 book a week.
It surprises me because you frequently proclaim that you avoid non-religious media, and that you really haven’t watched a commercial movie in years. And this is a commercial miniseries that is certainly not religious, but is also very violent and has a lot of profanity and sex.
I’ve never said I avoid non-religious media. I said that I’m glad that we now have some coming out. There are very few shows that portray the lifestyles of all the people I know.
I’ve also not said I haven’t watched a commercial movie in years. I’ve said that I’ve only been to religious movies in the theater, and if I have the option of watching them in my home, that’s what I prefer, because our theater doesn’t have CC, which I have to have to understand what they’re saying.
The Man in the High Castle DID have religious tones. It showed how Christians and Jews were having to live in no man’s land so that they wouldn’t be killed by either government.
I don’t care about violence, as long as it shows the good guys winning. We watch all the FBIs all the NCIS, all the Criminal Minds, all the CSIs, etc. I just don’t believe those types of shows should be shown to children.
In that second sentence, I meant that I’m glad that we now have CHRISTIAN shows coming out. Those are our first choice, and why we pay for Frndly, Up Faith and Family, and watch RedeemTV, The Chosen, Angel Studios, etc.
Oh, ok. So you were just saying you didn’t think he was a good president? You’re not making a statement about what would have happened if he had not been assassinated?
It’s possible. I had only flown small Cessna planes when a friend got me into the simulator in the Denver united training center to fly the 767. I did three landings without a lot of coaching. They might have done it.
Right. Unfortunately they rolled the plane inverted. That’s not recoverable from that altitude. Maybe for a fighter pilot willing to push negative G’s.
Or using a strap like a seatbelt to quickly strangle the terrorists to death while someone takes someone control of the aircraft. The big obstacle was the cockpit door.
