This morning I arose to find my yard decorated with garbage. Sadly, it was not done with an artistic flair. Several neighbors were also visited by Mr Bear. Have you ever had a bear cause trouble at your home?
The bears are pretty chill here. Currently battling the poachers and coyotes. Despite a 4 to 0 body count, they (the coyotes๐) insist on trying to tear into my chicken coop
Yes, we do have bears in our area. They have not been a problem. Coyotes are a by far greater problem. We are semi-rural, every house is built on 1+ acre. Our huge development has its’ own Facebook page. Communication races very quickly.
Colorado front range west of highways. Only a few streets between me and the wilderness. Bears in my yard every night during the summer. I learned to not keep trash out the first week I started living here.
The black bears are big scaredy cats trying to eat all the food. The deer around here are braver than the bears. I talk to them all the time.
We don’t have bears in Las Vegas. But we have a lot of coyotes and mountain lions. They haven’t stolen any chickens since I got my 4 great Pyranees dogs. They are 130 pounds of white fluffy love. And hate coyotes.
Holy crap. Do you normally have bears? Or are they just going crazy getting ready for winter? If you regularly had bears I would think that you would have bear proof trash bins
Garbage that wasn’t done with an artistic flair… That actually explains a lot of modern art ๐, or “garbage that was done done with an artistic flair.”
Actually this past few weeks my parents had their home broken into by a bear about 12 times. My dad’s deaf so he doesn’t notice the bear until it’s inside with him. It’s pretty comical listening to their stories about this. Finally they got the whole house wrapped with electric wires
Many times - lived right in the national forest of Lake Tahoe for 5 years, then right up against the Front Range in Colorado Springs for 20 years — So far, no bear sightings here in Florida, though I hear there are a few out there.
I agree, I lived there as well- they seemed less pesky on the South Shore however we had freinds & relatives in the Kingsbury Grade area that used to have bear issues.
Not my current home, but in the past I lived in the woods on a dirt road in Upstate New York and I had lots of critters. All kinds.
The ones that scared me was a pack of wild dogs, I had to call in help for that situation. I’ll take a bear over a pack of wild dogs.
No but the damned raccoons will get every egg given a chance and good luck getting to any nuts (filberts-due to maturation timing) before the squirrels.
