I’ve never seen <> used for not equals, I would’ve used !=

This...though I have a keyboard app that let's me save weird frequently used things, so if you I expect to use it often, I will copy it & put it there.

Because you want to show, in a mathematical ‘sentence’ that something is not equal to something else. Like 14 ≠ 12

Yes, 7+3=10. The question is asking “what number (x) plus (+) seven (7) does not equal (≠) ten (10). The answer is a set of any number you can think of EXCEPT 7. I made an error when I identified the answer as 7. I’m sorry if that made things more difficult.
