I think atheist/libertarian would be more common, with conservative financial views. But what do I know. I'm an atheist Green.

Yeah, that's my impression of Libertarians also. Your point ties in with my belief that the younger generation is re-writing cultural categories. Probably a good thing.

Nice on the rewriting point. There are many "inherited traditions" that the youth feel free to toss aside. Refreshing.

There are very few non-religious people around here. We tend to keep a low profile, but all are left wingers. My observation has been that religion and conservatism go together. Am I wrong?

While I wanted to disagree, the above link shows that those unaffiliated with religion are much more likely to be democrat. I'm unfamiliar with how the pew research guys are skewed.
