On a scale of one to ten, have you ever been in pain you'd classify as 9 or 10?
Yes. I was stung from head to toe by a large clump of approx 20-30 jellyfish. It is the worst pain I've experienced to date.
10,000 volts of electricity - 3
Broken wrist - 4
Broken neck - 5
Broken nose - 4
Urinary infection peeing blood clots 7
Pinching my palm with a caulking gun that broke - 9
That last one hurt so bad I blacked out and vomited.
26 hours of labor, some as "back labor," and delivery without any drugs. Ohhhh yeah.
Two words: Root canal.
Blacked out from pain after a shoulder injury and again during post-surgery rehab (the shoulder now has no cartilage left). That's high on the list.
When lower back pain is so bad that you can't stand even after the ER doc has you legally stoned....
Before back surgery I was hitting 8-9 faintly often. After surgery for spinal fusion, trying to take as little Vicodin as possible and still do the physical therapy, I hit a solid 9 a few times. And now it's a zero. Worth it!
I have seen it, but never experienced it.
Tore my meniscus in the knee in Aug. damn, still hurts.
Gallbladder attack. It's the first time I ever thought of cutting my gut open to take it out myself.
Been there, done that! Took baths to calm the pain.
C-section and then regular child birth
When I was 5 to 7 years I ran through a fire on the beach that was buried with sand but not put out. It kept burning with intensity for about a week.
Come to think of it, we never went to the ER for that one.
When I broke my jaw, yeah.
Yes. I had an ear infection. It felt like I was being stabbed by a rusty serrated knife.
12 hours of labor a minute apart? Gall bladder went evil? I guess they were 9 ish. We take always take more than we think we can. Somebody's 10 is another person's 5.
My bladder infection seriously felt like my kidneys had ruptured. It was at least an 8, maybe 9.
After heart surgery , I think it would have been less painful to give birth to a herd of porcupines.
And I also had costochrondritis.
Pain is simply weakness leaving the body. That being said I have a high pain tolerance, I've done my own stitches, was back at work the day following knee surgery, have self reduced many dislocations. I don't know what would call for a 10 rating...
Yes, I tore my medial patellofemoral ligament during baseball in March.
Not much more than a 7.
The worst pain I've ever been in was when I had so much pain inside my head, I almost went to the hospital, which is crazy because I NEVER go to the hospital. But I would classify it as a 7. To me anything higher would require multiple injuries.
Hernia and burst appendix, I'd say 11.
Yes, unfortunately. I shattered my wrist when I was younger, and I've had a few other instances since then.
