Just that an employer can fire you for being gay is testament to the fact that we need this.

Yes, I support it in principle anyway, without knowing how it would work in detail.

Puzzled by the exemption for businesses smaller than 15 employees though.

ENDA bans discrimination of sexual orientation and transgender workers, which is currently not covered by federal law.

Yes. The point I was making is that it's currently illegal only in states which have passed their own laws.

And the point I was making is that this issue - like gay marriage - is truly a civil rights issue - and states should not be able to allow discrimination against LGBTQ individuals.

This is not already illegal. You can be fired for being gay in at least 15 states or so. You can be fired for gender identity in a few more than that. I can't give exact numbers, but it is a sad thing.
