Yes, I love going to the movies. We never finish a movie in 1 sitting at home and I like taking the ride of watching a movie start to finish so I like the “requirement” of doing so at the theater.

Not anymore - 30 minutes of previews and commercials is grating. People talking, the glow of phones of people texting, the smacking of popcorn is all too much to endure.

With large Home Screen TV screens with excellent picture quality and sound, makes watching at home ideal.

I love the movie ritual - drive, concessions, attractions, movie, credits.

Home is distracting — interruptions, pets. πŸ˜‚

Not something I’ve ever done often, but I enjoy it when I do. I’d prefer to watch movies at home with friends and my animals so we can talk and have fun. But, every now and again it is fun.

I used to go to a movie multiple times a week, then like once a week, then monthly, then a few times a year, then, when Covid hit, never. TV got so good, there’s no reason anymore.

I can’t watch TV. Too much starting and stopping. Too much distraction. I love the ritual of the theatre — driving, concessions, attractions, the movie, the credits.

I believe movements and figures like Obama, #MeToo, ANTIFA, BLM, DEI, Disney, Democrats, and Hillary have ruined movies. Talented actors and writers who were right for their roles were replaced to meet diversity or ideological quotas, leading to a decline in quality. Without saying no to unreasonable demands like we have been laying down for means we’re never going to see good movies again.

I certainly understand your concern. I skip garbage.

Illuminations makes great kids movies. Angel Studios makes great Christian movies. Tom Cruise makes great action movies. Some foreign films are good. And sometimes Hollywood makes a good film.

Definitely! We go all out these days if there is a movie we want to watch. All the chairs are recliners so we get to stretch out.

And if it isn't a kids movie...we sit in the adult section with drinks and delivered food. 😁

I ran a movie theater in my late teens, took a lot of the luster out of it for me.

Particularly when I had to watch the movies I wasnt interested in at all, before the opening weekend to make sure the print was good and put together properly 🀣

It’s okay. I really enjoy watching movies more at home. There used to be local theaters that showed many great movies, but that hasn’t been the case for decades. It’s inconvenient and expensive to see a movie in a theater now. At home, we can be comfortable, spend less, and eat snacks that don’t require a second mortgage.

Not at all, it’s a room full of filth and stickiness. Can’t control playback, such as pausing to do something or rewind to review a scene. It’s packed with inconsiderate patrons of various sizes and volume levels. Your wallet gets violated for the simplest snack items.
I’d much rather watch a movie at home with my own comfort and convenience Why muddle up the experience with unappealing criteria?

I have not been to a movie theater in a long time. Most movies are just garbage. It’s full of cursing, sex, lgbtq garbage or some social justice message which is actually unjust. If they use God’s name in vain even once, I’ll never watch the movie. I’m not wasting my time watching something I’ll hate.

Did you realize that was written by Dallas Jenkins, who wrote, and is directing and producing The Chosen. Back when he wrote it, he couldn't get anyone to invest in the movie, and that “failure” is what led to The Chosen, now the highest crowd sourced show ever!

No never saw it, not my type of movie. Let me ask you, - when did you guys on the right become such soy boys. Where you have to go into a corner and cry when there is a Black, a gay, or a woman(with a leading role) in a movie? Here let me give you a tissue so you can cry it out 🀧😭😭😭😭😭😭

DEI
Today: 8:05 am

We never ever complained about a “black” or a “gay” or a woman in a movie. Not once. That’s your pathetic projection. Try again.

zimmy Florida
Today: 8:17 am

DEI- ok great! Then having a Black or gay person or a woman in a leading role is not woke! Wonderful! I agree πŸ‘ now can you give me an explanation of a few movies that are all woke to you? πŸ€”

DEI
Today: 8:28 am

Every Disney/Marvel/Star Wars movie, Barbie, Bros, Woman King, Terminator 6, Ghostbusters, Moonlight, Hidden Figures, Rings of Power, Velma, Santa Inc, Oceans 8… thankfully the public is tired of the wokeness so they were all huge bombs.πŸ’£

zimmy Florida
Today: 9:19 am

DEI- well all except Barbie did poorly I believe, Barbie was actually a huge hit. But that’s the free market, if people don’t like a movie people won’t see it. But there are plenty of movies that do well! Sinners with an African American theme is knocking out of the park( excellent movie btw) but most movies aren’t really “woke” at at all Final Destination and 24 years later are two movies I am looking forward to! Both horror movies 🍿 πŸ˜€πŸ˜ˆ

LibertyWatch000 Ohio
Today: 9:50 am

@Zimmy, I have hire standards. I’m not going to waste my time watching lies and propaganda. That doesn’t make me a soy boy. It makes me responsible.

DEI
Today: 9:50 am

See, now why would you even say a movie has an “African American theme”? Did Oppenheimer have a “White theme”? You guys are the ones obsessed with race, not us. If I movie is good, it’s just good and God Bless whoever is in the cast.

I wish you were right about the free market but Disney just never stops. Woke bomb after woke bomb but they just keep doubling and tripling down on woke. Snow Woke had to make like $600 mil to break even. It made $200 mil. What a disaster. Must be nice to just throw away billions on woke. But who knows, maybe eventually the investors will be like, “um guys, you do realize you’re not an SJW organization and you’re supposed to make money, right?” 🀷🏼‍♂️

zimmy Florida
Today: 10:55 am

Liberty- your propaganda is someone else’s truth, let the free market decide, nobody is making you go to a movie it’s a free country! Just don’t go around saying they shouldn’t make certain movies, others might enjoy

zimmy Florida
Today: 10:58 am

DEI- Disney seeks to be doing fine, they are opening a new park in the UAE. πŸ‡¦πŸ‡ͺ so obviously people are enjoying their entertainment.

And see you can’t handle a movie with an African American theme, you would rather cry about it. 😭Oppenheimer had an American theme in the 1950’s also a great movie 🍿

DEI
Today: 11:13 am

They enjoy Disney’s theme parks which generate about 60% of total revenue. They use that profit to subsidize the billions lost at the box office and their failing subscription service which is $10 billion in the hole. Trust me, people are NOT enjoying their entertainment. But live in unicorn land I guess. πŸ¦„ 🌈

As for Sinners, let’s try this again & stay on topic:

Why would you even say a movie has an “African American theme”? You guys are the ones obsessed with race, not us. If I movie is good, it’s just good and God Bless whoever is in the cast.

Every single time I have a discussion about something, in this case something as innocuous as movies, some lefty always turns it racial while calling ME the racist one. It’s utterly bizarre and points to some underlying issues they are projecting onto others.

zimmy Florida
Today: 11:25 am

DEI- let’s try again, I said Sinners has an African American theme, because it actually does have an African American theme. It’s ok to say the truth πŸ™„

And if Disney is doing so awful with movies they will change their movie style. It’s called the free market

DEI
Today: 11:35 am

Except they won’t. They make so much damn money off the parks they treat the movies like a public works project they’re willing to lose money on to spread wokeness far and wide. The DEI woke mind virus is so engrained in their workplace culture they can’t help themselves. Literally the most amazing example of brand suicide.

zimmy Florida
Today: 12:32 pm

DEI- well let them commit suicide. That would be on them. Again free market will decide

DEI
Today: 12:36 pm

The free market has decided.
