Snow Woke had to make $600 mil to break even. It made $200 mil. What a complete disaster! 😂 They’ve been churning out woke bomb after woke bomb for years. Must be nice to throw away billions to woke.

I certainly understand your concern. I skip garbage.

Illuminations makes great kids movies. Angel Studios makes great Christian movies. Tom Cruise makes great action movies. Some foreign films are good. And sometimes Hollywood makes a good film.

I ran a movie theater in my late teens, took a lot of the luster out of it for me.

Particularly when I had to watch the movies I wasnt interested in at all, before the opening weekend to make sure the print was good and put together properly 🤣

Yes. Mrs Statguy was a projectionist in college 50 years ago. I don’t think she watched the movies — just the progress of the reel and the timing mark.

Paying so much to see a movie you don’t enjoy is truly the pits.

We have movie club passes. And discounts for drinks and snacks. There are interesting smaller movies. And we like kids movies, comic book movies, foreign films, religious movies. Lots of variety.

We go every week. Action, drama, romance, comedy, kids, foreign, comic books. We don’t watch horror.

That sounds like a lovely way to spend time with Mrs Stat! ☺️

Most movie theaters have smelled pretty bad for many, many years. Yuck.

Our theaters are new and clean. Sorry yours are different.

I have not been to a movie theater in a long time. Most movies are just garbage. It’s full of cursing, sex, lgbtq garbage or some social justice message which is actually unjust. If they use God’s name in vain even once, I’ll never watch the movie. I’m not wasting my time watching something I’ll hate.

We don’t go to garbage. We enjoy religious themed movies — the church organizes outings. There are more now than ever.

The Kendrick Brothers, Karen Kingsbury, and Angel Studios put out some of the best. Do you have other Christian producers you like?

Yes, I believe we see most of these. Kingdom Story Company, formerly Kingdom Studios, made The Best Christmas Pageant Ever. Quite good.

Did you realize that was written by Dallas Jenkins, who wrote, and is directing and producing The Chosen. Back when he wrote it, he couldn't get anyone to invest in the movie, and that “failure” is what led to The Chosen, now the highest crowd sourced show ever!

Every Disney/Marvel/Star Wars movie, Barbie, Bros, Woman King, Terminator 6, Ghostbusters, Moonlight, Hidden Figures, Rings of Power, Velma, Santa Inc, Oceans 8… thankfully the public is tired of the wokeness so they were all huge bombs.💣

DEI- well all except Barbie did poorly I believe, Barbie was actually a huge hit. But that’s the free market, if people don’t like a movie people won’t see it. But there are plenty of movies that do well! Sinners with an African American theme is knocking out of the park( excellent movie btw) but most movies aren’t really “woke” at at all Final Destination and 24 years later are two movies I am looking forward to! Both horror movies 🍿 😀😈

They enjoy Disney’s theme parks which generate about 60% of total revenue. They use that profit to subsidize the billions lost at the box office and their failing subscription service which is $10 billion in the hole. Trust me, people are NOT enjoying their entertainment.
