Just as Americans start forgetting that the govt is still tracking them and monitoring their phone calls and emails lawmakers across the land are looking at forcing you to put a tracker in your car to log miles for taxation. Favor?
Leaving America when I retire is looking a little more realistic these days.
Who forgot about the government monitoring US citizens? And no, I don't want the government monitoring where I go.
This is one that I might actually be in favor of. I prefer user fees over taxes, and if it is only used to read the odometer I don't have much of a problem with it.
I probably drive 5-7,000 miles per year, ...
... but pay the same road taxes as "road warriors" who log 5 times as much wear & tear on the infrastructure.
I am afraid of it being a slippery slope however, and we would be a software patch away from auto tickets.
government tracking.......you're in favor?
Kind of makes me want to vomit. It just never ends, does it?
Does it make a difference if I drive an older car, I wonder?
Enough is enough
Will you do it though
Quite honestly, if something were organized, I'd take a stand.
I'm afraid if something isn't done soon, it will be too late. The more control they get, the less likely groups can organize.
maybe you should lead the way
That's the one job I don't want.
" The most eager is Oregon, which is enlisting 5,000 drivers in the country's biggest experiment. Those drivers will soon pay the mileage fees instead of gas taxes to the state."
That's just great.
I'll look into it
Its all part of the Alinsky plan. We warned them. They refused to listen.
That's insane and ridiculous. Who came up with this nonsense?
Who do you think. Your state LOVES LOVES LOVES this idea.
Why am I not surprised...
I'm not doing it
Thanks for giving the NSA an excuse to garner more datum with this poll...
The laughable part is where they write that libertarians support this! What libertarians, on what planet?
Sorry, accidentally pressed yay.
You can change it
