"No other success can compensate for failure in the home." -- A Mormon proverb.
Forgive my candor, but I think it's a shame how the LDS can take the spirit of the words that Paul wrote to Timothy, (1 Tim chpts 3 & 5), condense them, and claim authorship.
Ah, sorry to bust your bubble, but we have our own cannon of scripture. Pretty bottom scraping to go where you went. Just saying.
There are plenty of great men and women who contributed heavily to the world but were terrible spouses and/or parents.
True, and their success outside the home did make up for their failure in it.
But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. - 1 Tim. 5:8
I believe that one is from David O. McKay?
Good one, okie! :-)
I've heard it about as often as "endure to the end". :-)
Jms you must be one of us
Ah yes. We're everywhere!!!!! ;-)
I am interested to know why the majority of Democrats said "no". Perhaps if it was a Stephen Hawking proverb?
Mormon proverb. Mormon. Why Mormon? Proverb. Nope. No.
It's a popular saying in our church. It's part of our culture.
Why the hate? :(
If you think that's hate you should see what Hitler did to the Jews.
Oh okay. So nothing except for what Hitler did can be classified as hate. I'll note that for the future.
I didn't know that Mormons had proverbs. Learned something new, today has been a success.
I like this Okie! Thanks for sharing it ❤
I wholeheartedly agree with Ms. Kay! :)
Are you Mormon?!
No Miss Wiildkat, but I'm honored you would ask! I have much love and respect for Mormon friends I've had, and great admiration for dear Okie. :)
Maybe you should be ;) I am.
I had a sneakin' hunch 'bout you... :)
What clued you in? :)
Observant, with bouts o' clever... :)
All Mormon girls are pretty like Wildkat.
Okie, this is a rather compelling recruitment tool! I feel my self

It's true. One requirement of being a Mormon girl is that you have to be cute as a button :)
Miss Wiildkat, I seek no gain or favor with you, but I jus' call-'em-like-I-see-'em. If what you say here is true (but of COURSE it is!), then:
1.) YOU are totally adorable to the point of being over-qualified;
2.) Mankind is in serious trouble! :D
You made my day :) thank you!
:) love it
I bet you've heard it before.
Only a lot, but not as often as "I never said it would be easy. I only said it would be worth it." ;)
I wholeheartedly agree with this.
The proverb is correctly interpreted to mean that our endeavors outside the home cannot supplant the importance of family life. It should not be interpreted to mean that people don't or can't make mistakes and recover from them.
I would agree with this one.
