When you are involved in a conflict, are you more likely to solve it by:
I almost never lose my temper. If I do... It must have been very serious.
That's how I am.
I try reason first if that fails I walk away. I refuse to blow up for any reason. Life is too short.
I agree but there are times when I take a firm stand.
Usually go with reason, though not 100% dispassionate. I unfortunately can be a poor judge of people's reactions to me - I tend to read them as more negative than they are, which tends to topple me into people-pleasing or reaction mode more quickly.
Thank you. I have spent years resolving complex political conflicts and I still have a hard time dealing with blow ups. I try to be neutral and work toward solution but need to know how best to deal with the blow ups.
It's easier for me the less personal it is. I'm a litigator so my job requires me to keep my cool and see all sides of an argument. With work, that's much easier. But if it's something I really care about, it's trickier.
I agree. Personal is very different and thank you so much for your insight.
If you blow up all the time, no one takes you serious.
If you are calm 99% of the time and blow up on rare occasion, people know you mean business.
I completely agree.
