How do you decide what to eat?
With my current weight-loss program, I'm focused on protein (& eating fairly low-carb). So (for dinner) I pick a protein 1st (fish, chicken, tofu/tempeh/seitan, lean beef in that order of likelihood). Then add a couple vegetables, maybe a salad,
occasionally a piece of fruit. Basically simple preparation (with the occasional stew or stir-fry or something more "assembled" like that), *whole* foods. I have some intensely flavored sauces I can add to perk things up without adding many calories.
Avoid fast food. If it has more than five ingredients on the label, don't eat it! Have a salad often.
What I have a taste for, what I have on hand. If they don't work, I keep Lean Cuisines in the freezer. But I typically have a big salad with each meal.
Not each meal. Each dinner.
I make 5 or 6 base dishes and modify them. I also have bags of pre-cooked rice, chicken, pork, also I make frozen pancakes, waffle's. I also make homemade TV dinners that are in the freezer. So I am good.
I go to the kitchen and see what we have. Normally I find something I want. Then I cook/bake/microwave the item. Then I eat it.
Look in the cupboard then decide what's the fattiest/sugary
If it's just me, I take a mental inventory of what's in the fridge, to the best of my knowledge, then pick cereal or PB&J. If it's me and the fam, I procrastinate until my husband starts cooking.
LOL! You say that with such confidence and just! At least in my brain u do: "My FAMILY can wait until my hubby finishes his 24 hr shift, but when solo, I waste no time! It's Much quicker to cook for one than many!" LMAO I like your logic girl! =)
The truth is, my kiddos won't let me procrastinate to feed them...they are demanding little people :) But if it's the weekend, I do try to give them a snack and then wait out my husband. I suck at meal planning and everyone is a damn critic!
I eat pretty much a fixed daily meal plan - what I had for breakfast today, I had yesterday and will have tomorrow. Only variation comes one or two evenings a week. I've lost over 60 pounds in six months on this diet.
I had gastric surgery - so I have to eat protein with each meal. I also have to eat small amounts throughout the day. So with those rules - and the things I enjoy eating - it's pretty easy to decide
Pretty much whatever I can eat in the car. I gave up my lunch hour for comparative government, so now I eat two meals on the way to some form of school, if I remember.
*sigh* first world problems...
95% of the time I look at the calendar and see what we planned for dinner.
Tonight I made pancakes, instead.
Whatever looks good?
I usually get a craving for a certain taste, ie beef, pork, seafood and get it!
I usually pick the meat (chicken, pork, beef, hamburger meat, roasts, fish, you name it) & I start asking for requests/suggestions.
Look in the freezer
I have whats called a "seafood" diet. I "see food" and i eat it.
Hm, sometimes I just eat what I have. If I have a little money and don't feel like cooking, I'll normally just go to the closest place to me. Lol.
Hi Ariella, haven't seen you in a while.

Nice to see you too, Sakura! ❤️ :D
I scream "what do you want to eat," best answer gets it.. If no one answers I stare into the pantry till I see something easy to make..
Love it! :)
