Religious Q: is hell real?
According to some theologies, yes. Personally, it's a man made constrict made to scare people into behaving and obeying.
And now not only do I disagree with you on abortion, but theology as well
I've never beloved in heaven or hell. So while I know some religions do be believe in it from a theological standpoint I never have.
If it makes you feel better makem Judaism doesn't have a heaven or hell, at least not of the sort described by other religions. The equivalent of Jewish heaven is having your name remembered positively
But I'm not Jewish, how does that help me lol
I was explaining why I never beloved in either.
I have an ex-wife. Hell is real. At least it was for me.
There are two types of hell. There is spirit prison which is before the Judgement. That is where the people who have not yet accepted Christ go until they are taught and accept the Gospel. Then there is outer darkness which is reserved for people
that have seen Christ in his Glory and then deny his existence. These are the Sons of Perdition.
Yes, but God doesn't want anyone to go there. We have all sinned and fell short of the glory of God, however faith in Him can save us.
I believe hell is real. The Bible strongly indicates that it is.
Then it must be true.....
I tend to believe it to be a man-made concept.
Hell seems a man-made concept to me.
No. I agree with you that a loving God would not cast people into hell, though I am not religious. I believe the concept of hell serves as a threat of punishment to keep people in line.
God doesn't make us go to hell. Believe it or not, some choose to go there. Not because they want to suffer, but because they don't want to be with God. Hell is eternal separation from God. It isn't just fire and lava, guys.
Hell is not real
Just look around us. This is the afterlife. We all ate live puppies and did unspeakable things to nuns in our former lives.
Seriously though, I am in line w pret.
Ender, you are supposed to rescue us. Remember, the enemy gate is DOWN ;)
My daring and controversial answer: a truly loving.God wouldn't dole out eternal torture even for non believers.
That is my reasoning, especially when you add that Christians consider Him to be Omnipotent. +1
He isn't doling out; He gave us free will. We can choose to be with Him, as He had made wholly possible, or to be apart from Him, in hell, as we all deserve.
Even if you don't believe in God, Hell is real, just in a different secular sense
What do you mean in a secular sense?
Like poverty or death. There is something on Earth that makes life "hell"
Not in my opinion, but then I don't think a god exists either, so heaven/hell/whatever aren't real... to me.
