Should giving a child a ridiculous and/or negative name be considered child abuse, so long as that name is ridiculous/negative enough?
I went to high school with twin girls that had the last name Hogg. Their effing parents named the poor girls "Ima" and "Youra". What was even worse is those girls were stunningly gorgeous. They turned 18, changed their names, and moved away.
No, that's crazy
You mean like "North"?
No, I mean like "Brfxxccxxmnpcccclllmmnprxvclmnckssqlbb11116" or "Stoopid" or "Number 16 Bus Shelter." Something waaaaayy out there. I don't think that "North" is *too* bad.
Love your profile pic Fynd!
I think North West is worse than any of those lol
I went to school with a guy named Beverly. He changed it when he reached 18.
It's a male name in England, I believe. Not sure how common it is any more. I wouldn't bestow it on a male in the US, though. (Nor would I name a girl Fanny in England.)
If I want to name my kid Brfxxccxxmnpcccclllmmnprxvclmnckssqlbb11116, I should be able to.
It's a catchy name! :)
Haha! Awesome comment Kay!
If the name is just weird, silly or bizarre I might call it stupidity at its finest but not child abuse. However....it might be abusive it it is a hateful.
Did you watch the Vsauce video about names as well, or is this a coincidence? Lol
Yep, I did. You inspired me to make my own poll :)
Haha that's awesome:) It's a good question!
I like yours better, though :)
I think the child should be able to sue his or her parents for giving him/her a crappy name.
