The TSA has been caught red handed several times stealing from you. Is it time to allow private enterprise to solve the airline security dilemma? (Link enclosed)
Private enterprise handling security? I don't think that's the answer
Why wouldn't it be? They have an actual interest in keeping you safe, because they want your business again in the future.
So does the government. A corporate worker would be just as likely to steal from you as a government worker. It's human nature.
And who has the greater incentive to fire that bad worker?
Exactly. The govt has not been firing everyone caught stealing or mishandling passengers. The point was to prevent weapons from getting onto the plane not groping women and reaching in the underpants of little kids. Private security would be fired.
Both really. The TSA doesn't want to be disbanded any more than a company doesn't want to not be rehired
Well if they want my business again (and they do), they'll be strict about their employees handling their customers property.
Who will disband the TSA? It's a govt agency. It's not going to just give up that power.
Skinner skinner skinner.....
Politicians are perfectly capable of dismantling the TSA which is why they have a vested interest in ending these abuses. I'm all in favor of having them make amends to respect our rights and property but leaving a serious operation like this in the
Hands of corporations is not in the best interest of our security. We must ensure there is no 9/11 repeat.
Private contractors can do better at preventing a security breach. The Gov't is not magical.
Skinner, I don't know where you get these notions from. Maybe when you're out of the cradle you'll see that government is not some unicorn that can solve all the world's problems.
The abolition of the Thieves and Sexual Assailants is long overdue.
San Francisco's airport is privately run and the easiest major airport to fly out of in my opinion for the traffic if gets.
Ha! Take that Ramirez!
